No subs in those days
There were subs from the 1965 / 66 season - initially only for injuries. (1 sub for any reason from 1967)
Thomas made his debut in 1967 at WBA in our infamous 8-1 defeat. He was in the starting line-up.

Gillingham have had one shot away at Brentford and drawn 1-1. Now to pens.
Gills goal set up by ex-Claret, Alex Macdonald and he scored the 6th penalty and then Brentford hit the bar. He came on as a sub in the second half.

Bournemouth 4 Everton 1 won't half pile the pressure on Lampard considering Everton's poor PL form of late.

My friends tell me my memory is unrivalled . I saw my first ever Burnley game on 6 May 1967 at Villa Park. The following week was the last game of the season and I can remember walking in to my home town centre and listening to sports on the radio that said a youngster called Dave Thomas was making his debut v Everton at the age of 16, which was 13 May 1967. I suspect you have been on Wikidpedia which states DT made his debut in the 8-1 defeat at WBA, which I went to, that game was 10 November 1967, but they are wrong

You are quite correct re: DT, though your memory is not quite so unrivalled when it comes to when we first had subs. There were definitely subs that season, in fact Brian O'Neil came on at half time in that game for an injured Andy Lochhead. ;)

Subs started 1965/6 season. Our first substitute was Ian Towers who replaced Willie Irvine in the opening fixture v. Chelsea at Stamford Bridge.
Interestingly, it was Towers' final game for us and was transferred to Oldham.

Must concede on the subs situation-I was guessing, because I did not know

Coventry threatening to do a Forest this year, and that's why this league is so entertaining.

Slight difference though -
Forest were bottom because they were very poor and had lost most of their games. Coventry were bottom because they couldn't play any home games. (Games in hand aren't as good as points on the board, but Coventry are playing well)

Some great praise for Bauress and Lewis by VK saying they had deserved their spot in the squad ... OK only a minute but they got to share in a good solid night at Turf Moor under the lights in s cup win...

Hope they keep improving and getting chances but... they might be few and far between with this current squad of hungry players

just watched the game now - pretty much been locked in a think-tank room at work since last Monday, and just got back.......

Nobody mentioned what I haven't seen since the first game of the season, and that was throughout the first half in particular the runs in the box from Roberts and Costelloe just begging for the ball to be played into them, but it went right...... not complaining, Benson was having a field day, supported by JBG, but I would love to have seen those splits been rewarded with passes.

I thought Roberts in particular looked as good as I've seen him this season, but his best work was off the ball
