Re: Match Day Thread v QPR
INteresting when people think that a penalty should be given when the player drags his left leg so that it colllides with the keeper when he has no chance of winning the ball, however, the same people don't think that it is a free kick if a player tries to jump over an opponent's leg and goes down.
Neither were fouls but we got lucky with one of the decisions and that's football.

Re: Match Day Thread v QPR
If the ref at halftime looks at his decision to give us a free kick from which we scored do you think he will even things up in the second half and give them a dodgy pen?

Re: Match Day Thread v QPR
i'm surprised more players (especially keepers) just don't follow through and pull out of the challenges. The QPR guy just dragged his leg into Muric...the ESPN+ announcer thought it was a penalty.Ashingtonclaret46 wrote: ↑Sun Dec 11, 2022 1:28 pmINteresting when people think that a penalty should be given when the player drags his left leg so that it colllides with the keeper when he has no chance of winning the ball, however, the same people don't think that it is a free kick if a player tries to jump over an opponent's leg and goes down.

This ref is so far out of his depth, it's untrue
It's benefitted us so far but this could go either way!

Re: Match Day Thread v QPR
There are 3 options to decide the Cork “ foul”
1 A clear trip and free kick
2 A clear dive and should be a booking for cheating
3 I think it was this - not a foul but not a dive
Player going forward and avoiding 2 defenders together and can’t stay on his feet.
That is why he apologised

Cork wasn't clutching his leg and screaming like he had been shot. He just avoided the foul be diving over the leg, he was apologising to the QPR players as the Ref gave a foul ... no way should he have been booked as some are saying ... You are spot on its football and these things happen....

Premier League ref today. Not Brazillian though.
Re: Match Day Thread v QPR
And if avoiding a foul causes you to fall over then surely it’s a free kick.Bosscat wrote: ↑Sun Dec 11, 2022 1:34 pmThis

2 mins extra time
Re: Match Day Thread v QPR
This ref is the opposite of last night. Gives a free kick every time a player fails over

Re: Match Day Thread v QPR
I think QPR at home need to be on the front foot and getting into Burnley.
Just repeating what Jamie Mackie has said about 8 times now in case anyone hasn't heard him.

Yep completely controlled proceedings so far. If being critical we haven’t created enough.

That is your full back, the furthest player forward.

Superb first half. Was worrying we’d lose momentum after the break, no chance!!!
