Morocco v France
Over an hour to go before the 2nd semi final between Morocco and France, the winners face Argentina in the final on Sunday, the losers play the pathetic and no need 3rd place play off against Croatia.
Surely we're all Morocco fans tonight?
89th min and France leading 2-0, Zaroury comes on and scores a 5 minute hat trick to send Morocco through? We can hope!

Re: Morocco v France
Looking forward to this game, hopefully a few goals (and not 0-0 after 120 then pens) but Morocco's defending has been brilliant up to now. Only conceded 1 goal (against Canada that) with clean sheets v Belgium, Croatia, Portugal and Spain.
Wouldn't like to be a gendarme in Paris (or Marseilles) this evening though- whichever way it goes (10,000 police mobilised nationwide, half of these in the Paris area!).
I'm going 1-0 to Les Bleus after 90 minutes.

You’re as nuts as that guy on Twitter the other night who was telling everyone that Wout Weghorst would come off the bench and score in injury time!!

Re: Morocco v France
I would rather Zaroury started tonight and had the game of his life. To hell with it if he's in the shop window for a bigger club come January, this could be his one big chance in his career to have an unbelievable experience and we should support him in that.
He's come across very well and has accepted his position as being part of the squad, rather than the first team.
We have an amazing player and a fine young man on our books here

I thought he could have gone and got his fist to the ball as the French player had to wait for it to bounce.Vegas Claret wrote: ↑Wed Dec 14, 2022 7:07 pmnot sure what the keeper was doing, went half way then stopped and left a massive gap. Game over already ?
Re: Morocco v France
Don’t think he can play for another team this season anyway, having already played for us and Charleroi. Unless that rule has changed?Croydon Claret wrote: ↑Wed Dec 14, 2022 6:03 pmTo hell with it if he's in the shop window for a bigger club come January, this could be his one big chance in his career to have an unbelievable experience and we should support him in that.

Re: Morocco v France
dodgy ref again, books the Moroccan lad and lets Dembele get away with a late foul and pull back in the same move.

I think all that saved the defender is that he touched the ball.Lowbankclaret wrote: ↑Wed Dec 14, 2022 7:31 pmSurely that was a pen to Morocco , Looks like FIFA has decided who’s winning this cup.

Re: Morocco v France
In terms of a pen. Had the defender not touched the ball, it was a pen.
The booking came about because the French defender went into 23 rolls after the collision.

Do you think Zaroury only likely to get any game time if Morocco end up in the 3rd place match on Saturday?
Re: Morocco v France
Yeah. There’s no if about it is there? They’ll definitely be in the 3rd place match.JohnDearyMe wrote: ↑Wed Dec 14, 2022 8:18 pmDo you think Zaroury only likely to get any game time if Morocco end up in the 3rd place match on Saturday?

Re: Morocco v France
The hope would be the longer it goes on with Morocco losing the more chance he has to feature, going into last 10/15 minutes you'd want as many attackers as possible. If you're Morocco 1-0 down with 10 minutes to go, just go for it, you'll more than likely not be in a World Cup Semi Final for a long time, if ever.JohnDearyMe wrote: ↑Wed Dec 14, 2022 8:18 pmDo you think Zaroury only likely to get any game time if Morocco end up in the 3rd place match on Saturday?
But with the way it is going currently, they might be winning with 10 minutes to go.

Also more impressive from Morocco is that they're missing their 2 first choice centre backs.
