Boxing Day footy
Re: Boxing Day footy
Ndiaye is a lovely player for Sheff. Having said that, it’s a goal completely against the run of play, Cov have been the better team.

Re: Boxing Day footy
Nathan Jones always looked a strange appointment for Southampton. Wouldn't be surprised if he didn't see the season out.
Re: Boxing Day footy
Saw their fans already started grumbling after their win against Lincoln the other night. Weren’t happy with the style of play or comments from the manager after it.

Awful appointment. Absolutely baffling. Doesn’t inspire the fans or the players, you’d imagine. Guy couldn’t handle the Stoke job in the Championship.

Shocker but I’m not so bothered about this one. It’s the gap to 3rd that I’m worried about.

Re: Boxing Day footy
He has a very strange, intense personality. He was literally almost close to tears at Stoke on occasion and is almost too honest. You can see how his style works at an underdog club like Luton with no real expectations but he’s never seen a PL manager. Big contenders for the drop now.RVclaret wrote: ↑Mon Dec 26, 2022 3:54 pmHis comments the other night were odd and won’t help building rapport with fans

I can see Southampton going down and unfortunately they'll surely want Tella back.

If Southhampton think recalling Tella is going to keep them in the PL, they are sorely mistaken.

Re: Boxing Day footy
Did think when they appointed him that he’d want Tella back as it’s evident their current forward options aren’t doing the business. But we can only wait and see I guess. While he’s great for us, I’m not convinced he has the quality required for the PL right now.

Re: Boxing Day footy
West Brom 2 up and looking very good - think they’ll mount a late challenge
Re: Boxing Day footy
Not been at it today. Not a good penalty taker either. Still been a handful though. He occupies defenders very well, doesn’t stop running and has pace/power. Definitely got the attributes for the PL imo.

Thank you, RVclaret.
I don't really know Coventry's financial situation - not sure Coventry City FC do either TBH - but difficult to imagine he'll be leaving in Jan and certainly not to TM.

Re: Boxing Day footy
I think he's the best striker in the league
Even on a bad day, he looks like he could make things happen. The only question I have is how much is he worth without proven PL quality?
I'd say easily £13m. Maybe even £15m, but £20m is probably too much for a club who has to manage finances, like ourselves
Re: Boxing Day footy
Apparently Brighton sold him for only £1m. Slipped up there by the looks of things.
Re: Boxing Day footy
Not too bothered about Sheff Utd as I expect them to get promoted along with us. Blackburn, Watford and Preston all losing is a bonus although I can't see any of them catching us regardless of their results.

Re: Boxing Day footy
Dyche to Everton.
Lampard has been very well paid since getting the Derby job and has never proved himself a manager. Had Timori, Mount and Harry Wilson at Derby and couldn’t get them up. Took over a Chelsea squad that Tuchel took to CL Champions and they blew him out. Now taken Everton backwards.

When you look at Lampards track record he's beginning to look like like a cockney Owen Coyle.Tricky Trevor wrote: ↑Mon Dec 26, 2022 4:57 pmDyche to Everton.

They have Man City a and Brighton h next. Could be in the bottom 3 after those two fixtures.

Re: Boxing Day footy
It will certainly be ironic if McNeil and Tarkowski both get relegated with Everton whilst we go in the other direction. I can see it happening if they stick with Frank.
