Who do we want in round 4?
Plenty of lower league sides remaining, but for me we'd be better getting another lower end Prem side, Southampton or West Ham at home would be ideal, and a fair shout a tie like that would be on TV.

Southampton at home would be great. I think we’d batter them.

Wrexham at home.Deadpool anyone.
Re: Who do we want in round 4?
Good for this team to get some experience playing PL teams, but not one that will murder us. So West Ham or Fulham at home or something like that.

Either of the Sheffield clubs away. Plenty of tickets, both good away days.

FGR away (I've not been!)
Fleetwood away (not seen us there...)
Grimsby away (it's been a while.)
Failing that, something within an hour on the train / drive from Sheffield!

Accy away.
We don’t seem to sell a lot for cup games so better to enjoy some away days.

A crap lower division team that we’ll see off easily unlike the turgid Dyche performances against similar opponents.

Re: Who do we want in round 4?
Usually FAC 4 is a blank date but it looks like we were scheduled to play Millwall on the date allocated 28th January, am I right in thinking that?
If so I would like a Lancashire Pot boiler at home PNE, Blackpool, Rovers or Accy. A full away end and a bit of atmosphere with a Saturday 3.00 pm KO

Re: Who do we want in round 4?
The form we're in , nobody, and I genuinely mean nobody will relish our ball being drawn out against them. Teams below us will think "that's us out then" and prem teams will see it as a major banana skin and really won't fancy it.

Yeah, the Millwall game will just get moved to a midweek later in the season. Personally think it's a bit daft scheduling Championship fixtures for that weekend.ClaretLoup wrote: ↑Sat Jan 07, 2023 9:42 pmUsually FAC 4 is a blank date but it looks like we were scheduled to play Millwall on the date allocated 28th January, am I right in thinking that?

I'd take Fulham ....
Fulham haven't won at Turf Moor in their last 31 visits, 25 defeats and 6 draws, a record dating back to 21st April 1951 !

Anything but a 12.30 Sunday KO. Utterly ludicrous to have such times for the fa cup . A low league or champ at home be fine .

Fleetwood
Re: Who do we want in round 4?
PNE? The cup's in its 152nd season (less one or two cancelled by war) and we haven't played them yet. If we both reached the final they'd still find a way to draw us apart!ClaretLoup wrote: ↑Sat Jan 07, 2023 9:42 pmUsually FAC 4 is a blank date but it looks like we were scheduled to play Millwall on the date allocated 28th January, am I right in thinking that?

Re: Who do we want in round 4?
I dont bet, but I do like looking at the odds
Bookies have us at 100/1 to win FA Cup. Now I think its extremely unlikely we will win it, but in the last 20 years, Watford, Hull, Stoke, Cardiff, Portsmouth, Wigan. Palace, Everton, Southampton, West Ham, Villa and Millwall have all reached the final (and I know some of these teams were much better when they got there than they are now, but it does show that it's not always the big 6).
Given our position in the league, I can see us taking it much more seriously than the likes of Leeds, Southampton, West Ham, Leicester, Wolves. And after our performance away at Bournemouth, you'd have to say we can hold our own against a good chunk of these teams. 100/1 seems like very good odds.
In fact, the only teams I'd absolutely want to avoid are City, Utd and Arsenal. I'm not saying we'd win, but I think we could give Chelsea, Spurs and Liverpool a game. And it'd be great test.
Bring on the draw!!

Wrexham at home.
Re: Who do we want in round 4?
A lower league side at home. The best opportunity yet to give Twine his chance and rest a few of the first team while giving ourselves the best chance of making it to the last 16. With promotion almost a sure thing, we might as well try and make it as far as we can.

I think its just PL that have a blank date for the 4th roundClaretLoup wrote: ↑Sat Jan 07, 2023 9:42 pmUsually FAC 4 is a blank date but it looks like we were scheduled to play Millwall on the date allocated 28th January, am I right in thinking that?
Although this year it's possible there could be 9 PL teams and 13 Championship teams in the 4th round (or also 12 PL and 9 Championship teams based on results, but still).
Probably easier to automatically move Championship games to midweek though
