Thanks for the replies lads. I take all your points on board, particularly when a player becomes unmotivated when he wants away. All fair points well made. Like I said, I genuinely hope it turns out to be a master stroke. Tarks signing turned out to pretty much that didn't it !! Enjoy the game tomorrow gents .

Yeah they are better than the actual signings and that's saying something. No coincidence that our transfers have been top notch since the videos were upped in quality.Lancasterclaret wrote: ↑Fri Jan 13, 2023 1:39 pmI'm sorry, but its not done till the announcement video is done

I think it’s excellent.
The “what’s taking so long” “don’t worry they are professionals” plus the “nobody is getting replaced” are very subtle and clever.

What’s wrong with it?
Re: January transfer window rumours.
I’m more on the side of ‘they’ve just stuck his face on Buzz Light year’ than I am on the ‘the script from Toy Story is being used as a message of what else is to come’ side.

I think you’re wrong. The “what’s taking so long” “they’re professionals” is definitely a reference to our previous reveals etc.

Seelt: CB, 19yrs old and apparently 1.92 m tall. You can't fault our targeting young players from Europe.

What's changed with the scouting abroad compared to how it was under Dyche, is it purely Kompany coming up with all these player's or do we have new scouts

Perhaps we have better contacts in Europe with VK and our new coaches.

Think we may be going back to the old fashioned 4-2-4 ,playing 4 ball playing centres halves,2 midfield ,& 4 up,front.Jimmy Mac must be smiling in his football heaven.

I hope so, this is fantastic for the clubs future, we buy 6 or 7 rough diamonds and find 2 or 3 future stars to sell for big money to keep the club going, Kompany/the club have done well alreadyboatshed bill wrote: ↑Fri Jan 13, 2023 5:47 pmPerhaps we have better contacts in Europe with VK and our new coaches.
Re: January transfer window rumours.
We just put an ad in the Belgium papers saying “ Who wants to play for the most exciting team in England” and if your any good you might be playing in the Premier League next season.Lancasterclaret wrote: ↑Fri Jan 13, 2023 5:49 pmI think its a combination of new owners and Kompany both having amazing contacts

It a bit of both the athletic has done a piece on the recruitment the primary influence is ALK so the ownership a 3 pronged system was implementedAGENT_CLARET wrote: ↑Fri Jan 13, 2023 5:51 pmI hope so, this is fantastic for the clubs future, we but 6 or 7 rough diamonds and find 2 or 3 future stars to sell for big money to keep the club going, Kompany's/the club have done well already
1. An algorithm
2. The traditional but expanded scouting system now spread across Europe and further afield
3. Vincent Kompany
Any of the three aforementioned prongs may throw up a player for the club to look at but each will then pass through the other methods to make sure they are good and then the club compiles shortlists of these players that they go through name by name so while Kompany is used to help recruit by making calls all these people we are signing such as Zaroury we were already aware of and looking at before Vincents arrival.

Re: January transfer window rumours.
It looks like we're trying to get players in just in case we can't turn the loan signings into permanent transfers in the summer. VK did seem to mention something along those lines the other day.

Kompany’s football world is now firmly embedded with our club and it would be an empty feeling without him.

an awful lot on non strikers in those possible signings and we only have about 3 places in our 25man squad from memory and that may be down to 2 now
I dont think overseas players under 21 are exempt from the 25man squad

Agreed and I think this lad is highly rated. Comfortable on the ball and pretty robust defensively from what ive read. Regular international with Bosnia too.

They may still be thinking of sending McNally out on loan to play every week which frees a space, was Costelloe named in the squad? He’s just gone out on loan so that might be another space cleared
