He’s had 2 relegations
He's also proven he can keep a team up on a limited budget, that his players would generally work hard for him etc

His experience would be ideal for them right now, more so than Lampard's, who's still relatively new at this and last season was his first relegation battle and he's already admitted that this season was going to be another.
That's hardly going to inspire confidence in his players.

He’s proven he can get 2 relegations too , anyway he’s not getting the job, so it’s all irrelevant

Ok sure, if that's the line you're going to keep trotting out then you're not worth listening too.

I'd argue that what he achieved at Burnley was a lot greater than the two relegations you keep spouting about, but you wouldn't listen anyway. I also think it would be a good move for both party's right now.

There was always an inevitability about relegation for us in the Premier league. However. to be able to stave it off and also finish very respectably on a couple of occasions far outweighs the failures we suffered. On the budget we had Dyche's time as manager, apart from the last few months, was a remarkable achievement.

Everton fans wanting better players. Who in their right mind will sign for them after seeing the videos that are out. They will probably have to pay ridiculous wages for someone to want to sign.

Would be delighted to see them relegated.
Horrible fans
Horrible players.
Horrible ground - one of the worst in the Premier League and got to be the worst away end for sure.

Special mention for Flash Gordon - since he went to the hairdressers and asked for a “Pat Butcher” his form has fallen off a cliff.

Can’t agree about the worst away end, that accolade must go to the Anfield Rd stand. Absolutely zero view of the pitch from the back of there.

Everton dodging the bullet for a good few years now, could see them going this season. Saying that, Southampton, Wolves (until today) and Leicester all look terrible. Oh, and Forest of course.
Sadly you've omitted the worst team in the division - Bournemouth, so Everton might just escape.
I think Bournemouth will go down, but it's hard to predict who'll go with them.
Leeds are in big trouble too.

Oh well if you think that then it’s a no brainer, give Everton a call and tell them .

Dyche will struggle to get a premier league job as the perceived style of football he brings is only acceptable when you can virtually guarantee survival (like Big Sam). Dyche doesn’t offer that.

I think Leeds will be ok. They were very unlucky at Villa and it looks like Bamford is almost back to full fitness. I keep waiting for West Ham to start winning but they don't. How can you go from being so good for two seasons to not being able to buy a win. Even Southampton are making a fight of it so Everton need to up their game or they will be gone.

And West Ham.

Although can't see Moyes lasting too much longer if the results carry on the way they are doing. They'll probably get an experienced pro in.

People wanting Everton down know they would finish top 2 next season in the Championship and make the Premier League slightly easier to finish higher up in. Is Benson going to play better because we have a decent history against them?

I agree with the top 2 in the championship but not sure about the Premier league thought.
If they go down it would save West Ham or Wolves for instance.

They all look similar down there.

Everton have never been relegated from the Premier League. It would weaken the division for sure. Look at the size of the club and fanbase.

It would, but it would be the best thing for Everton.

The club could offload all the dross and comeback much stronger.
The club would mend itself if it was winning every week.

At the minute they just buy sub standard players in desperation.

All depends on what they're paying the dross, because other clubs may not be willing to match those wages.
Can also make a fair assumption that Everton won't have relegation clauses in their players contracts, so if they came down and stayed down a year or two the club would be financially crippled.

I couldn't see Lampard leading them straight back up.

My point was about the strength of the Prem but on your point about it being good for Everton I don't think it will be that simple.
When we went down we had relegation wage clauses. Do you think Everton are going to have those? I doubt it. You'll have players who don't want to leave and just pick up their wages each week.

It's no wonder the fans are worried with the way the remaining fixtures are. Unless they improve they could quite easily draw or lose those home games and draws aren't enough. The big matches against the bottom teams are mostly away, and the Bournemouth match is the last one of the season so might not matter. They are gonna have to 'get good' quickly.

They’re in big trouble without a doubt, but I’m not sure home advantage is something I would factor in to their remaining fixtures. I suspect the players and staff would prefer to play away from home, which in itself poses a big problem.

Everything will sort itself out from their perspective they was in a far deeper hole last season with less games remaining & still found a way out & will this time, I'd expect some sort of movement post west ham if not before who are also in the same sort of predicament albeit with a more sedated fanbase.

Whoever takes over they'll never be happy but there's some decent evertonians who'll back dyche & realise he's a sensible choice & they'll stay unwaivering loyal as long as he makes a fist of the job.

We know bielsa did I'm not sure who else was approached & preferred to dyche, I think 3 or 4 serious candidates were considered including RH the ex Southampton guy, it wasn't a massive pull of a job to lots of managers & you are narrowing it down to the 1s that were available.

Who exactly turned them down?

It looks like there has been a process followed by the Everton board/owners and it was whittled down to Bielsa and Dyche.

I know Big Sam has been mentioned, but was he ever really in it?

I also have a scouse mate (Everton fan) who is 100% OK)

But then, my wife’s cousin has been twice married to scousers, and a both weddings, 9 out of 10 of the people there were horrible.
Come to think of it....my ex wife's cousin was married twice to 2 Tranmere fans who had a private box at Prenton Park, they didn't like Scousers either.

Some very derogatory comments about Dyche on their forum, not them all but a sizable minority.
You can understand why. I don't have any confidence in what he'll do, but it'll be interesting.

Thomas Frank and Bielsa.
Hardly a long list.

Also, did Bielsa turn them down or did they reject his demands?
He was on big money at Leeds, £11 million a year I think it was towards the end.

Thomas frank wouldn't have left his safe seat at Brentford bearing in mind what he's doing there unless some serious money was pushed in his direction, I think he'll go eventually but to a better team than everton.

A puzzling shortlist if Dyche and Bielsa were the final two candidates. They’re polar opposites when it comes to a style of play, even if Dyche were to adopt of more expansive way of playing.

It smacks of an owner and / or board that doesn’t have a plan (hardly surprising, they’ve been a basket case since Martinez, if not before).

Assuming it’s Dyche, they’d do well to give him a long leash so that he can influence, within reason, aspects of the club away from the pitch.

Unless Moshiri sells up, I can’t see Dyche being a successful appointment even though I do think that given a fair crack of the whip, he’d prove to be a big success there.

I wish him well.

That shows how far Everton have fallen tbh, when the Brentford manager sees them as a sideways move.

The everton gigs ideal for a manager who is already out of work you would need your head checking leaving another PL job to go there.
