If he's a Bosnian Muslim for example, he might be settled where he is

And Besiktas are a massive club

Saying that, Konya isn't exactly next door to Istanbul either
All very true, but I just wouldn’t take this as his position based on Turkish media.

They reported that Muleka wanted to sign for Besiktas over us last summer, but in the end it turned out that a work permit was the only thing that stopped him coming here.

The reporting makes no sense anyway. On the one hand they say we’ve offered double what Besiktas have, but on the other report them as being “one step ahead”. His current club are going to accept the best offer.

The general idea is roughly everywhere in turkey will be pretty much the same climate 🌞

Regardless....one presumes we're not engaged seriously in any pursuit of players without a clear inclination to be joining us.

I’ve no clue, what is the difference between that and the other one then?
thats because there isnt as you pointed out theirs no interactions with the tweet especially when compared with follower count its another account that has paid for bots or at least thats the likely scenario

Shortened from robot. Essentially automated profiles that follow or respond to things for all sorts of reasons.

If you use twitter even a tiny amount, you'll soon notice that they are everywhere

If you have your notifications set to ignore all without a profile pic or a valid e-mail address, then that helps reduce the amount you see, but doesn't fully get rid of them

One of the things that really annoy me is certified blue ticks (ie real people) retweeting obvious bots for clicks and retweets

OK. I don't use Twitter, well more accurately I don't sign in to it.
I wanted to but I just don't seem able to "tweet" properly..more like a grunt. :D
Why would anyone want these robots everywhere?

Well, there are two main reasons

1) Boosts your followers and interactions, which if you can get thousands of followers, you can monetise that

2) State/Big organisations wanting to flood the internet with false information - the most obvious example being Russian disinformation trolls and bots, but also during elections in the West

I think we are all aware of the dangers of misinformation online, but bots wouldn't really have any effect if real people were a lot more aware of the issue

My twitter follower/following list stays low because its a lot easier to manage, and you also avoid the attention of lots of bots (plus the measures I've already mentioned really help)

One of the more worrying changes of Musk taking over is that you used to be able to report Bots, and now you can't, which tells me a lot about what Musk is interested in sadly

V true

But despite all that, twitter is ace for transfer stuff

Anything that journalists write about goes in there, so its a mine of really useful stuff

But its also a minefield, and the longer you are on it, the better you get at navigating your way through it

Sell on fees are usually based on a percentage of any profit made.
There's no way they are going to make any profit.

He did a very good job for us did Wood, but if we were to get promoted and he was relegated to the Championship, I may afford myself a wry smile at his comfort zone comment.

Selling Wood would be a useful cashflow exercise for Newcastle - they are due to pay Macquarie £12.5m in 3-4 weeks time, as the 2nd and final instalment on his fee comes due. Remember we sold that payment last May.

For Newcastle to book a profit they would currently need to sell him for in excess of £17m given he is reported to be on a 3 year deal - if it is a 3.5 year deal (which seems more likely) then a price of circa £18.5m will be need to book a profit

these prices allow for the additional cost of recruitment (legal, medical and agent fees ) that are amortised along with the fee itself

I’ve got to be honest, if I was an Eastern European professional footballer, I’d rather live in Istanbul than Lancashire too.

Depends on your aspirations and how ambitious you are in the sport you have worked so hard at from a very young age.

He would have been anyway. At this point he isn't good enough to lead the line for even a lower PL side & next season that won't change, the passage of time has naturally determined that course anyhow.

Exciting times either way, I’d say - it’s more important to me that we’re targeting this type of player. If we don’t get them done, there will be another one scouted.

Ive been hunting for the original my self but the place I saw it was on the TalkBFC instagram page referencing a Msutafa Durmus and "other reports stating he is departing to join Burnley" my failure to find corresponding sources makes me think someone on the TalkBFC account is trolling as the only thing ive found is references to Besiktas our only rival for the target "failing to secure" amir and moving on to a new CDM target in ligue 2

If we somehow manage to get Hadziahmetovic, Ekdal and Obefami along with Al Dakhil then it will have been another amazing and positive window. Is this the same club that could hardly get transfers completed when SD was manager?

Different market though, we are shopping at a lower level and to be fair, the profile of having a manager like VK gives us a huge advantage
