Tried to watch, Norton went nuts

No idea why that is, Avast/Malwarebytes don't give problems, and I have ublock origin installed on chrome too.

Re: January transfer window rumours.
I don't think it'll need much of anything signings wise to see Charlie Taylor going in the summer, until THB got injured I'd half expected him to go this month.
I think that quite rightly we kept hold of CT last summer to provide experience and something of a safety-net amongst the newly signed defenders and those have since proven that they can cut the mustard. CT's age takes him outside our preferred age-range and as of now and hopefully still by this summer, CT would still garner a decent sale fee; if we keep him for another season as a replacement/bit part player, I suspect that value will drop substantially by the following summer.

Belgian media reporting we’ve agreed a €10m fee for Foster (€7m + €3m bonuses). Looks like he’s on his way.

Good stuff. Big move from us if the numbers are accurate. Perhaps the bonus are based on factors like PL promotion, PL survival, PL goals scored. Exciting signing.agreenwood wrote: ↑Sat Jan 21, 2023 6:49 pmThis guy was first to report we’d agreed a fee for Benson from memory.

Every YouTube video I watch him on, he seems to hold and come in from the left a little like zaroury, rather than central?

Re: January transfer window rumours.
I feel that our almost guaranteed promotion has helped us ease the purse strings and enticed these quality players. Absolutely loving our dynamic approach to transfers.
Re: January transfer window rumours.
That’s a very large fee by our standards, the largest we’ve laid out since Kompany has been here by some margin.
Nevertheless, I trust the management and scouting team implicitly right now and again I presume he’s been bought with one eye on him being able to step up to PL level.
I’d absolutely love us to get that midfielder too, without wishing to appear overly greedy.

Re: January transfer window rumours.
I highlighted this lad and a striker from portugal at the start of the window. I genuinely did not expect to get one of them as I thought a prem club would get them.
This is 100% a signing for the premier league

Re: January transfer window rumours.
If this is true, VK obviously really wants this lad! In fairness, if he works out to be another great acquisition, €10 million could end up being an absolute steal when you consider what top end Championship strikers cost nowadays. For example, Watkins for £30 million +, Chris Wood for £25 million……I could go on!
Regardless, having seen the likes of Benny, Anass, Cullen, Beyer etc….VK seems to have an eye for up and coming talent, so here’s hoping this lad signs early next week!
What a season this has been so far!! UTC

Agent claret currently fuming that his ITK isn’t needed anymore on this deal
Re: January transfer window rumours.
Getting relegated was the best thing that has happened. We’ve cleared out a whole raft of players on salaries that have been inflated by our stay in the Prem. Now we have a squad confident from winning matches at a lower level that I think will surprise many next year. Exciting times. (And it could have all gone horribly wrong… thank you Mr Pace you may be here to make money but you are speculating to accumulate).

Do we think that we will still sign Obefemi? if we don’t he is going to be quite messed up if he think’s Swansea have blown the move he wants in two transfer windows.

supposedly we were only going to pay the money as a last resort if we couldnt get anyone else so it seems like he may be stuck unless someone else comes for himnortheastclaret wrote: ↑Sat Jan 21, 2023 7:49 pmDo we think that we will still sign Obefemi? if we don’t he is going to be quite messed up if he think’s Swansea have blown the move he wants in two transfer windows.

Well, we DO need to replace both Barnes and Jay……but it dos give us good bargaining power to suggest we’re done unless the deal is right

Re: January transfer window rumours.
Obviously we’ve no idea how it happens in reality behind the scenes, it may be far more fraught - but on the face of things we seem INCREDIBLY efficient when it comes to transfers with this regime. You can only applaud that, fantastic.
It’s a lot of money for us, but Kompany has earned every drop of trust with his signings. You can only get excited at another potential gem arriving.

Re: January transfer window rumours.
Wonder where this leaves Obafemi? Not in the squad again today?
On the one hand they now know we have a striker and are no longer desperate, but also know we’ve just shelled out €7m so have money.

Or are we gambling in the almost certainty that we will be getting a huge amount next season, and with a squad almost ready for the PL?

Re: January transfer window rumours.
NO-suspect we have had to pay more for Taylor than we had hoped so now makes it difficult to go back for Obefemi and find more money. And also Swansea rejected our offer anyway. Suspect the player is now feeling really low as I sense Burnley would have felt like a great move for himnortheastclaret wrote: ↑Sat Jan 21, 2023 7:49 pmDo we think that we will still sign Obefemi? if we don’t he is going to be quite messed up if he think’s Swansea have blown the move he wants in two transfer windows.

Re: January transfer window rumours.
I suppose the problem with Obefemi is that last summer we were looking for Championship players; now we're looking for Premier League players.

Re: January transfer window rumours.
We still need Obafemi, Barnes is out of contract in summer and not good enough for the premier. Foster will be our first choice, with Jay, Obafemi and Twine. Giving us the four strikers we need for a healthy squad. 9 subs next year. UTC

Re: January transfer window rumours.
I agree with the bit at the bottom but there are alternatives to Obafemi, especially in the summer, the most important factor is players being good enough for the Premier League.1914tyrone wrote: ↑Sat Jan 21, 2023 8:41 pmWe still need Obafemi

Re: January transfer window rumours.
I think the idea of our recruitment is not to buy players near their ceiling price, the figures quoted for Gyökeres have to be close to it, even if he has a decent season or two there isn't the scope for a decent profit if we are paying £15 million+
Pretty sure we'll look elsewhere at that price, especially when the transfer fee can go a long way towards the expected salary from the player and their representatives.
