Re: Maatsen
Agreed. Some top performances out there today. But Maatsen was everywhere. Great anticipation and a slick pass for the third goal.

Re: Maatsen
Best player on the pitch today.
We have to move Heaven and Earth to sign him. He’s worth breaking our record for.

Re: Maatsen
He’s absolutely brilliant and getting better and better. About 3 months ago, he’d have been 4th on my list of 5 for those I wanted to make permanent. He’s probably 1st now.
Re: Maatsen
Honourable mention to Ashley Barnes, been terrific since the Rovers game. Man of the match today for me, but we were brilliant across the park.

Re: Maatsen
Vividly recalling him tracking back 70 plus yards, after being in attacking mode, in the first half.
Two or three candidate's today for MoM.
But Maatsen gets mine.

Re: Maatsen
I'll hold my hands up ,I wasn't particularly impressed with him until after world cup break, since then he has been very impressive. Excellent today, along with the rest of the team in particular Barnes and Cullen.

Re: Maatsen
Fast becoming my favorite player. Now that he is getting better defensively he can go the whole way. Would love us to sign him. His control is sublime

Re: Maatsen
Definitely need to get him signed if possible and beyer to both fantastic
Re: Maatsen
I thought he was outstanding today and his form since the World Cup break has been consistently good.
So incredibly dynamic, finding different spaces and always on the front foot.
With Chelsea playing fantasy football under the new owner there surely won’t be a spot for him there next season. I’d be aggressive and make the move as soon as the season finishes!

Just about edged it from over the hill Barnes
Re: Maatsen
Shows you've played well when people can't agree on the MOM.
Re: Maatsen
Its a full house from me ... Everyone today ... small margins ... Maatsen gets the MotM but shout outs to Barnes, Tella, Zaroury, Ekdal, Bayer, Roberts, Cullen, JBG, Peacock-Farrell, Brownhill, Vitinho, Foster and Taylor
Vincent Kompany you are a genius.

Him and Beyer need to stay beyond the summer no matter what the price.
Re: Maatsen
We talk about Brownhill having a good engine on him, which he does. This lad is another level though - he’s up and down that wing, seemingly tirelessly!

Re: Maatsen
That heat map confirms what I was thinking during the game (what the heck is Maatsen doing over there?)
Don’t know if y’all noticed just before the final whistle, he had cramped up pretty badly, after having gone down for it, and if the game had longer left than a few seconds he would have needed substituting.
Don’t think we’ll see him Tuesday

Re: Maatsen
Beyond a bit of soreness the next day, cramp doesn’t mean injury, if you’re the fittest lad in the squad your recovery would be fine for TuesdayNRC wrote: ↑Sat Feb 04, 2023 4:12 pmThat heat map confirms what I was thinking during the game (what the heck is Maatsen doing over there?)
