I had no idea that Peter & Eamonn Salmon were brothers.
You’ve put doubt in mind now Tony !
Sure I was told that quite recently.

Both St Teds lads

Just watched episode 4, it gets better and better, some parts may be a bit far fetched but the acting is brilliant, said it earlier that Sarah Lancashire is fantastic but for me James Norton as Tommy Lee Royce is just as good if not better, the look on his face at the end (don't want to spoil it for anyone) I just wanted to kick the t.v. in.
Shout outs to for the chemist and the Pyscho teacher. Roll on next Sunday

saw james norton (the baddy) on something the other day and he seems so gentle, camp even.

he has such menace in the drama and it just goes to show how brilliant an actor he is.

i hope sarah lancashire ends up killing him.

I saw him on Graham Norton a couple of weeks back, so we'll spoken then to hear him as Tommy is a bit of shock, can't wait for the ending, got a feeling it will be a bit like the scence in the cellar and on the boat in series one

Some of it’s a bit far fetched but still good viewing. The Chemist who normally acts so nervous in most situations is suddenly very calm and polite when the teacher runs into the back of his car, bearing in mind he’s just murdered his wife.

Given it is the last series of Happy Valley I think Tommy may succeed in killing off the sergeant Cawood. :( :( :(

I can't believe that I spend ages flicking through Netflix enduring hours of sh*te and a tired looking Sarah Lancashire has you engrossed for an hour.

Brilliant acting although I'm sure her sister in the show must be from Bacup because by 'eck she's not quick on the uptake.

And the nasty guy gives me the heeby jeebies with no effects whatsoever...

He is being calculated there I think - he wants to be able to come forward and say that the teacher had a pop at him and was aggressive etc to keep the spotlight on the Teacher. If he gets hit/assaulted by him, it just helps him. He fears the other dealers over the teacher for me and he is formulating a plan of self-preservation.

That teacher is proper stitched up - if he reports it to the police, he knows they will see him as the no1 suspect.

If he tries to get rid, its going to come back to him when she is found.

If they trace the medication back to the pharmacist, he is probably able to deny and say that this has been lost/stolen etc. He has no motive to kill her as far as anyone is concerned.

I can see him about to kill her and his son sees him for who he is and protects her, with the ending being her driving off in her landrover to do her trip.

It's a classic conundrum who do you want to go down the wife beater teacher with the padlock on the fridge or the murderous chemist with the weird stare? It's one for Sarah Lancashire because the CID bloke they sent didn't look like he could spot the murderer in a Freddy Krueger movie.

Here’s my take on it for what it’s worth. The Mechanic women who killed her own son, that Catherine’s helping after she came out of prison, I think she might be the one that ends up killing Tommy. Im probably way off but just trying to think of the not so obvious.

I don’t quite get the love of this programme, and I’m not knocking it because ‘good is in the eye of the beholder’, but personally I have never got with dramas that are like ‘real life’ that are set in real places. When I watch TV, other than sport or documentaries, I want to be taken away from the mundane. However if people get enjoyment out of it that is good.

Slightly yes. 😂 But then I don’t like police dramas as a genre either (unlike my wife) so I still probably wouldn’t watch it. Sarah Lancashire is a good actress though, pity she can’t star in a good sci-fi fantasy.

Basically loads of TV crime dramas are set in beautiful locations these days... Scotland, The Isles, Pembroke etc.
I think they do it to gloss over weak story lines at times.
Oh, and not forgetting Death In Paradise, Midsummer Murders..... :D

***SPOILER ALERT****

I disagree completely. I think everyone was probably expecting an action packed final confrontation.... Hi- speed chase, fight, etc. The exchange between the two was much more emotional but equally gripping.

I was going to say I didn't think they were brothers. Peter Salmon is my mums second cousin. He does also have a well known uncle in these parts..and anyone who knows local cricket will know him. Ken Shapcott is Peter Salmons uncle and my first cousin twice removed.

I have it all on a family tree I've been researching...although my mum already knew she was related to them both.

Thanks also for mentioning Eamonn...allows me to branch off a bit more...although I suspect it will be his cousin from his father if the same name. I'm related through Peters mum.

Bit of an anticlimax for me. I was hoping for a bit more action, one last battle between them.
