Foreign-based ST Holders (Sorry Ms Thunberg, woo)
As i suspect walk on tickets may prove hard work given the scarcity this season for certain games, plus likely cost increases, i've taken the plunge and got a 23/24 ST in the Bob Lord.
Reckon if i make 10 games ill break even so bit of a no brainer really. I'm sure our kid will make use of it when i'm not able to.
Who else flies in for games?

We certainly have a couple of Irish Clarets, Isle of Man and Norwegian who post on this board and come over quite often.
Then there's the Helmond lot.
Not sure about STs mind.

Re: Foreign-based ST Holders (Sorry Ms Thunberg, woo)
I might only make 4 or 5 games but don't like the thought of being unable to get a ticket for games.
I'll ensure my ST gets used when I'm not here mind.
It's a no brainer now I don't have Lee Hoos calling me a w*nker.

Aye i'm pretty much similar minded. I'll make around 6 or 7 games this season as a walk on so its not inconceivable i can make that up to 10 or 11 minimum.

Mate of mine has two season tickets at Anfield. He’s lived in North Carolina for 25 years

Not sure id call it exactly “foreign”…………and it’s hardly the Caribbean!
but Isle of Man
either ferry, or fly……………..
Used to be easy when Blackpool airport was open, but now it’s T3 Manchester in the main which is a nightmare of a Terminal…..

Re: Foreign-based ST Holders (Sorry Ms Thunberg, woo)
Yeah T3 ain't great. The new upstairs quiet bit helps (Up as if you're going to a lounge, then take a left). I do prefer Jet2 or Easyjet if possible, but Ryanair are often difficult to ignore when they have a sale on, and that means T3Jimmymaccer wrote: ↑Fri Feb 17, 2023 12:13 pmNot sure id call it exactly “foreign”…………and it’s hardly the Caribbean!but Isle of Man

His company is called Anfield and he has an oil portrait of Kenny Dalglish on the wall in the living room, painted by his patient wife. He shouts at the television

Re: Foreign-based ST Holders (Sorry Ms Thunberg, woo)
It's tough supporting the Clarets and living/working away. I had a ST for a couple of seasons back around 2008.I managed 10 games the first season and 5 the second. Work blah blah blah and just not worth it. Now it is hard to get a ticket for myself and my grandson to come up as we are doing so well - but ... them's the breaks. Full respect for anyone flying in! Booking flights and accom in good time only to find Sky moving the match - sickener! UTC

Aye, ill try to wait for the TV dates but if there are some juicy flight deals i may gamble. Some are predictable with opponents in Europa League at least, i guessRN_Claret wrote: ↑Fri Feb 17, 2023 12:42 pmIt's tough supporting the Clarets and living/working away. Came to the same conclusion as your good self a few years back after paying £41 for a “walk on” JMU ticket against Man City and still got ST but a bit cheaper now it’s a senior lol.

Long trip from Orlando at my age so it’s TV for me. All games are now available live and no great cost. BFC do a good job on YouTube with highlights. Only issue on the live games is the odd bit of buffering and a slight delay. Saturday games usually 10am local a midweek 2.45 or 3pm. Perfect.

This is why the club should adopt a similar system to US sports, in which you're allowed to sell on your seat for games you can't make via the club

Can you access Clarets+ in Orlando. I don't travel anymore but practically all the matches are 'Replayed' and are available a day or two afterwards. Only need to register. No idea if this is going to happen in The Premier League though.FCBurnley wrote: ↑Fri Feb 17, 2023 3:36 pmLong trip from Orlando at my age so it’s TV for me. I had season tickets for over 40 years despite being away most of the time. It was my way of supporting the club through tough times.

Yep, I do, had a season ticket for over 25 years & loath to give it up. Live in Spain & try to get back to as many games as poss. Pre Covid I could get return flights under €50 & car hire €32 per day, now flights are over €200, car hire is around €300 for 2.5 days. Premier inn charged me €140 for a Sat night last time I was over.

How can my brother in law get return flights to Spain for £50 still this year and you're saying is €200?Stockbrokerbelt wrote: ↑Fri Feb 17, 2023 4:23 pmYep, I do, had a season ticket for over 25 years & loath to give it up. Re: Foreign-based ST Holders (Sorry Ms Thunberg, woo)
I spent the last few seasons going on "radio silence" waiting for the replay to appear on Clarets+ and watch it as if live. This season, in the Championship I have 3 packages that captures every single eventuality
- Disney+ bundle that has ESPN+
- Clarets+ international package
- Peacock for PL games
With those three there isn't a minute of football you'll miss, even other European leagues and cup games/leagues. The one exception was the FA Cup replay vs Ipswich

I wouldn’t feel guilty about your air miles ZC, I’m sure Miss Grumpy Kecks’ will eclipse yours.

Usually if you arent restricted by certain events, and can for example fly on a tuesday instead of the weeeknd, you will tend to find cheaper faresGodIsADeeJay81 wrote: ↑Fri Feb 17, 2023 4:35 pmHow can my brother in law get return flights to Spain for £50 still this year and you're saying is €200?

Tribesman, next season, if you don't mind sitting in a decent seat in the Bob Lord, get in touch with me. I should be able to have a ticket spare for you. Save you all the hassle.

Godisadeejay, once you add the extras in so as to be able to bring a small carry on it rockets, also need to be weekend flights which are more exspensive.
