Only 12k home fans on Deadwood, whilst still in with a play off shout, shows how much the town has given up on them.

They're too busy perving at Haydock these days

Easy cheap shot I remember Burnley having poor crowds in the period where you languished in the championship for many years which involved a few playoff pushes and eventual capitulations.

The funny thing about these days is that you hear Burnley fans saying the same things and taking the same cheap shots that Rovers fans used to do about Burnley in years gone by.

It really is all swings and roundabouts football, init?

Exactly, but don't remember such a measured argument when the shoe was on the other foot.

Correct Goody but is that not all part of the fun? Take the **** when you can from any angle play down any criticism when it’s due. Football supporter psyche pal

Fair play for coming on Accy blue. I'm from Accy and I'm Claret.

You will find most on here over 35 will always take shots at rovers, given the history, the difference in our fortunes from the 80's until the 00's.

Times have changed, we are by far and away top dogs now. So on a Burnley FC message board, you can expect "cheap shots" at your league 1 fan base.

Not meant to sound crass and fair play for posting.

I remember a couple of away games at Luton in the mid/late '90s: we had far more than just over 1,000 with us, but they allowed away fans nearly all the end. No home fans in it then.

I would think 10k home fans in the championship for our North West sides is about par.
Wigan, Blackpool, Rovers had around that.
Preston sold a load of cheap STs didn't they?

We have grown our fanbase massively in the last 10/15 years. Free kids STs and premier league football to get youngsters started has made a huge difference.

With the Knobbers home record this season, they should be paying fans to go on, not letting em in cheap.

Not a cheap shot Accy. Your average attendance is 14k+ and in your position in mid-Feb I would be expecting more not less.

If we had appointed Chris wilder a suspect ours would of been 16k are so.Everyone as jumped on the kompany bandwagon and the foreign invasion it’s brilliant but I don’t like to gloat at the attendances.Even in prem we never sold out kompany as been a breathe of fresh air-with all the season tickets sold we are guaranteed a sell out next year all season which is brilliant.

Just to point out I always found in our case a team doing well still didn’t seem to put too many extra bums on seats-the team that finished 7th in the prem we hardly sold out.

Must be tough for Rovers being closer to Salford City in football and support terms, than their real Lancashire rivals, Manchester United.

Has symmetry at least ‘dirty old town’ meets ‘run down **** hole’

Huddersfield 18,000 plus is pretty impressive in their circumstances.

By accounts online their fans haven’t been turning up, despite the official gate figure. A problem we had last season in parts.

Some decent followings lower down the leagues. Shrewsbury, Grimsby, Hartlepool & Swindon with more than respectable numbers

In 2017-18 we had 13 of our 19 league games close to, or above, 21,000. If you go back almost 60 years our crowds when in the top division haven’t changed much. I think the difference these days where season tickets are the norm, when you’re doing well almost everybody turns up, and when you’re not doing so well more stay away, even when they have season tickets.
