I didn't see much of him. His first season was the behind closed doors season and when we got back to watching u23 games last season he had a long spell out injured.Taffy on the wing wrote: ↑Mon Feb 20, 2023 6:06 pmThought he might be a good one when we signed him....never worked out for us.

I know signing these younger lads is a hit and miss scenario, it will be interesting to see if you and others see an upturn in quality coming in now VK is steering the ship so to speakClaretTony wrote: ↑Mon Feb 20, 2023 6:07 pmI didn't see much of him. It’s always a risk I suppose, but it doesn't feel like many, if any, of those signed for the U23’s in recent seasons have met their objective with us?
Good luck to him.

The academy ship is being steered by Paul Jenkins - not sure how much involvement VK will have at all.Vegas Claret wrote: ↑Mon Feb 20, 2023 6:19 pmI know signing these younger lads is a hit and miss scenario, it will be interesting to see if you and others see an upturn in quality coming in now VK is steering the ship so to speak

I suppose it depends on what the objective is. Of course the ultimate objective would be to provide players for the first team. But Chelsea have shown (albeit on a mammoth scale), that a decent academy can help supplement the transfer budgets for the first team. Whilst many haven't been sold for fees, the standard of loans they're playing at in recent years is beginning to slowly improve and that in itself is an indication in things getting better.
