Game spoiled by selfish "fans"

Post by Woodleyclaret » Sat Mar 04, 2023 5:58 pm

We were sitting on the front row, due to mobility issues ,yet people kept wandering past going to get food and drink often stopping to chat to mates blocking our view totally.
Totally spoiled our enjoyment of a game we had driven 274miles to watch

Did you happen to say politely to them “hey guys, do you mind moving on, we can’t see?”

He was on the front row it must have been the players obscuring his view.

The “temporary” stand at Bloomfield is just not fit for purpose. The slope is too shallow and the path at the front is always busy.

The front row looked like it was under the pitch. Such a weird stand. It's like a temporary one with cushioned seats anda proper roof. If you're near the back the pillars and unnecessarily big tv gantry obscure your view. Facilities are like being at a festival; portaloos and a food truck. Shabby chic deluxe.

It’s the longest standing temporary stand I’ve known!!

Sorry Woodley I didn't know there was a path in front of that stand...

Just a footnote you didn't miss anything.

It's not really the fans fault if a clubs disabled facilities are not fit for purpose

My game was spoiled by our quiet fans.

Worst away end of the season. Like the BobLord stands day out.

Strange as the pubs were bouncing and half time was.

Didn't sound quiet ... the BFC fans were the only ones to be heard on the stream I watched 🙄

Our fans were terrible today, top of the league away in Blackpool and we was silent.
What happened to getting behind the team?
We just wait until we are winning these days then give it the big un, it's the same at home.
Not surprised tho seen as a lot of them couldn't even walk to there seats before kick off, we was watching grown men being carried to there seats for a 3pm kick off, people falling up and down stairs, one lad came up with his body all tilted to one side with his mate holding him up then loads of fighting at the end between ourselves.
Utter embarassment

Obviously don't know what came over on the stream, but in the stand it was very quiet.

We are usually very loud away from home.

I was sat in the away blocks near there drummer and singing fans, we only sang when we was singing going up going down.
We are the same at home, stay silent until we're winning. We've quickly become the fans we've slated for years.
We should be behind the team from the off with how good we can be, we'll never have it easier than this season

It certainly wasn't silent in the away end

Full marks for the bloke bellowing out about going down on your donkeys for 30 minutes before kick off

Most people would have noticed no one joining in and people laughing, but not this lad!

I sat down the front too as I'm waiting for a knee op. and I'm not able to stand for the whole 90 minutes. What amazed me was the sheer number of Clarets fans trooping in and out of the stand during the whole game. It was constant movement so I sympathise with Woodley. You expect a few late comers and a few nipping out before half time for a pint and a pie but this was on a different scale. Also, to me it seemed that hardly any of the ones milling about seemed to be even slightly interested in the match going on. Ah well, each to their own.

They’d allocated time slots for use of the port a loos. Unfortunately demand massively outstripped wholly.

There are people who spend the entire game on the concourse. I suppose they pay their money and they can do what they want, but it’s pretty weird.

There were a lot of people present at the game who weren’t remotely interested in the football.

We were on Row J in the middle. There was a constant stream of people walking along our row and the one in front. We also commented that we wondered why these people had actually bought a ticket since they were obviously not bothered about missing what was happening on the pitch, nor were they in the slightest apologetic about continually pushing past us and blocking our view of the game.
The behaviour of some of our supporters, (some of whom shouldn't be allowed in) means that the awayday match experience is becoming quite unpleasant especially if you have young children with you.

You’ve obviously got an agenda against the supporters clubs for whatever reason.

I’ve used the supporters clubs since I was about 13 years old. I have the upmost respect for Pete and those who run the coaches for him (I have, on occasion, run coaches for him too) but they are not babysitters. The majority of people who travel via supporters clubs are well behaved individuals who follow the Clarets all over the country every single week. Since lockdown, there have been people who use this method of transport to take drugs and get smashed.

Don’t tar everyone with the same brush - it’s the minority that are the problem, not the majority. It’s also not the supporters clubs responsibility to “look after” these individuals.

I never said it was the regulars, the regulars will still go if alcohol isn't permitted on the coaches.
The problem is allowing young boys to drink and take drugs on these coaches.
Never used to be allowed and never used to be such issues

I've used coaches loads for away days and nothing but respect for the guys running them they do a great job.
Unfortunately though the decision to allow drinking is a very bad one that I think should be stopped.
No your not babysitters but by allowing drinking your allowing the behaviour.
No alcohol on the coaches will result in these guys not being in the states they are in on arrival.
The ones I've been to this season id say the majority was hammered on the coach, people doing Jaeger bombs at 9am what's that all about.
Stop the drinking until arrival and you cut a massive problem in half

I'm assuming you have proof of this to make these comments. Can I suggest you report it via burnleyfcsg at gmail dot com and confirm which supporters club you are referring to rather than posting it on here. I've travelled on coaches a few times this season and seen no such issues.

Me too. I usually get the train but I've been on a coach several times this season without seeing it. Best not generalise and tar them all with hat same brush.

I've been on the coaches this season and seen it with my own eyes, I can tell you which coaches they were but how do I prove what I saw?
And I can assure you that the lad who was leaning was perfectly fine there and back on the coach. He’d had a few drinks in the pub as all pre game (when dropped off) and may have been a little fresh, but he definitely hurt his back on the way to the ground. He caused no harm or disrespect to anyone throughout . The coach he and we were on was perfectly civilised both there and back.

Tbf after Stoke away Accy Clarets themselves acknowledged they'd been issues with young lads drinking too much and acting like idiots.

I saw a lad fall down the stairs coming down from the family lounge in the Manchester pub, looked like he’d really hurt himself, not sure if that’s him.

No; that was my lad. Missed the step and turned his ankle. He wasn’t ****** or took any drugs.

I am sick of these morons, they are the very reason why I can't take my kid to what should be a nice away game in Blackpool. It's not even young lads, they're all ages, feral and spending most of the game gauding the opposition. Weirdly I go to away games to cheer on my team and watch a match, these supposed fans will stop me from doing so in future

I only really realised this season now that I’m taking my young child, no chance she’s going ewood, probably give it a miss myself.

I walked in to that yellow submarine bar yesterday before the game and the place was packed with zombies, was funny but I’ve never seen a group that off it
