VK Wages?

Post by burnley007 » Sat Mar 11, 2023 9:05 am

Does this suggest that VK is on £131k per week?? Or am I misreading it?

If you clink on the link for £131k, it actually says he’s on a reported 2 mill euros per year

Worth every penny, of €2 mill. Not sure what he's on but was widely reported he was the highest paid EFL manager when he joined.

Whether anyone needs or is worth £2 million is a debate in itself, however, it is certainly true that in relative terms he is worth every penny of it.

Already, probably the most significant contribution of any manager of the club in my lifetime.

It probably suggests to take no notice of that particular site to be honest.

He's doing a cracking job, especially considering the overhaul he had to carry out following relegation, however his real test will be how he fares in the Prem.

His real test was to overhaul the squad and get a mid table place for launch at promotion next season
What he has done has been truly remarkable so far
Doubt any relegated team has done what we have achieved with such a massive clear out and rebuild

Can't think of any no, and most sides who bounce back manage to retain their cohort of PL players.

What's grating is still many opposing fans simply bleat on that we've bought the league, seemingly forgetting that we've sold £90m in talent, and only spent a fraction of that amount to rebuild our squad.

Not sure how you've reached that conclusion when you take into consideration the overall state of the club when Dyche took over

Eddie Howe, Sean Dyche and Vincent Kompany. Not a bad trio of managers.

On reflection Howe put together and Dyche inherited a very decent squad and at a time when we had the wage bill a sixth of what it became ten years later.

i think VK would appreciate a young Danny Ings, Charlie Austin, Sam Vokes and Martin Patterson.

Kieran Trippier
Daniel Lafferty
Michael Duff
Jason Shackell (C)
Chris McCann
Ross Wallace
Dean Marney
Sam Vokes
Martin Paterson
Junior Stanislas
Brian Jensen
Danny Ings
David Edgar
Luke O'Neill
George Porter
Joseph Mills *
Cameron Stewart *
Alexander Kačaniklić *
Marvin Bartley
Dane Richards
Brian Stock
Charlie Austin
Keith Treacy
Alex MacDonald
Kevin Long
Jon Stewart
Cameron Howieson
Steven Hewitt
Tom Anderson
Ben Mee
Wes Fletcher
Joe Jackson
Shay McCartan

They were anticipating a greater devaluation of the pound.

I’d think Jay although reduced terms on his new deal I suspect.

I think 2m or 40k a week was what was put out at the time he signed.
