I personally didn’t think Foster did too badly. No service though as benson either failed to take on his man or put in a poor delivery. Not sure what people expect him to do when he’s not got any support.

Played ok, but - following Tella's departure - by half time it seemed as though we would need Zaroury and Barnes to give us more of an edge up front, but VK didn't agree, and (IMO) it was at least 15 minutes too late when they finally appeared.

Re: Reading v Clarets Match Thread
Good to see the lads on the fringes some game time today. They quite clearly need it on todays showing . Some due to lack of match fitness, some due to never playing in this country before, plus a mixture of both for a few.
Foster showed a few nice touches but was absent for a lot of the game I thought. Needs more game time that’s about it. Too early to judge him.
Churlinov looked like he’d just come back from the off season. I’d like to see him get more chances between now and the end of the season to see if he does improve his performances , but he didn’t show for the ball enough, didn’t press enough and was sloppy on the ball a few times. I actually liked what I saw of him on a few brief appearances but today was really poor but I’m not writing him off.
Al-Dakhil was pretty good to be fair - the ball over for Benson first half was top notch. He’s got a bit of pace about him too. Could well be one of the signings we make a serious amount of money on in a few years time .
Twine was also half decent today, albeit not pulling up any trees but rode some strong challenges well and got into some nice positions pulling defenders with him. Had a few chances which on another day may have crept in. I do think he’s playing a totally new position/role too than he’s used to at his previous clubs . A hybrid 8/10 role where he can arrive late in the box is being worked on by the looks of things - again another player who needs games to improve.
We all wanted the record points of course, but giving these players game time, experience and a chance to improve will only make us stronger , which for me is important going in to next season. Better to try things now than during a premier league season .
Soon to be champions of the second tier again . Good times UTC

I’m serious. We played terrible. Do we have to say we are brilliant … when we wereterrible. Is that the rule on this thread
Re: Reading v Clarets Match Thread
What actually happened to Tella? My IPTV was mid buffer and I didn’t see a replay. Hopefully nothing too serious?Mixedkompany wrote: ↑Sat Apr 15, 2023 5:50 pmWhilst i wasn’t keen on the number of changes today, we still had enough to win that easily.
3 good chances wasted.
Also if Tella had stayed on I believe we would have won at a canter.
Churlinov offered little and ballooned our best opportunity over the bar.

Tella injury- no contact. Just seemed to over reach for a x field high ball and pulled up.

Re: Reading v Clarets Match Thread
Apart from the first 15 minutes a really flat performance, Taylor way too slow and safe with the ball, Darko didn’t take risks, Foster didn’t have a sniff, Twine was pretty good. I’d like to see what some of these players can do whilst starting in our settled 11, far too many changes at once, no rhythm.
Re: Reading v Clarets Match Thread
You do realise there’s quite a wide range between the two yes? Some people don’t seem to be able to grasp that it’s possible to be neither brilliant nor terrible!

You give it a rest. You're just a little bit temperamental if you're trying to contribute in this way.Sheedyclaret wrote: ↑Sat Apr 15, 2023 4:55 pmGive it a rest we virtually walked this league this squad deserves no negativity
My comment was absolutely fair. They're fighting relegation and are at the bottom of the form table. We weren't great.
