Joe Rankin-Costello

Post by Bin Ont Turf » Tue Apr 25, 2023 10:45 pm

What an absolute arsehole.

Was hoping that Barnes would take his head off his shoulders.

Born in Stockport apparently, must have got the jealousy from his Dad.

The first description I could think of.

Ashley was brilliant, under Dyche he would have probably done something he shouldn’t which would have cost us, under Kompany he’s been sensible and kept his head. Costello’s plan was clear, wind Ashley up and try to get him walked. Well done
to AB. As far as I’m concerned he will definitely “always be a claret”.

Probably should have been sent off , given some of his nonsense first half then the yellow early in the second.
Was giving it Billy big ******** all game. Unfortunately for him he was up against an all timer in that department .

He could easily have been sent off, but he was fighting for his team. I was impressed by their midfielder, Wharton, and wouldn’t mind seeing him at Burnley.

You're correct but my OP wasn't just about him and Barnes.

He was at it from the first minute, nasty like.

I know our Barnes likes a bit/lot of shithousery, but I've never seen him be as nasty as that arsehole was.

Rovers have some good young players, including this lad

Wharton was the best player on the pitch as well

But they have no goal threat at all

Wharton will play his trade in the big leagues no doubt.

Only 18 and extremely composed - looked like he’s been playing first team football for years

Made a slight cock up against Benson that cost him but he’s got a bright future.

Wharton looks a class player tbf, only 18 could see him in an England shirt in a few years already in the England age groups, its the thing we as club need to start doing producing our own players

Wharton, and his brother came through Rover's Academy and are lifelong Rovers fans, can't see that happening .... Agree with you about Rankin-Costello though, fighting for his team. Last night, that Rovers team were a different beast to their supine effort last time round.
