Would have been a penalty against Tarkowski if they hadn't scored.

Re: Tonight's football
To be fair they are playing against third, they wouldn’t have expected anything tonight. That said, they’ve been rubbish.

VAR inconsistencies are so frustrating to watch.

At the very least I expected Everton to be hard to beat. Even that seems to have gone out of the window.

Bournemouth win 1-0 at Southampton, they're now 7 points clear with 5 games left and Southampton 6 points from safety with 5 games left.

Dyche Out
Re: Tonight's football
It’s Soton and two from the next four basically. The winners of Leicester v Everton will gain a big advantage on the other three.claretburns wrote: ↑Thu Apr 27, 2023 9:41 pmBournemouth win 1-0 at Southampton, they're now 7 points clear with 5 games left and Southampton 6 points from safety with 5 games left.

Re: Tonight's football
Dyches record in the last 2 1/2 years must be atrocious. Keane and Tarkowski getting exposed as vastly overrated defenders, people like to laugh at Maguire but he’s twice the player of those two. Not so easy defending when you’re not camped in your own six yard box.

A win tonight with their GD and Cardiff shall be safe, should allow us to relax and enjoy our last game without them scrapping for points to survive.

Re: Tonight's football
Shocking display by Everton-should have been 6 or 7 by Newcastle, and Pope hade just one save to make. Said earlier in the week that if Everton went behind they were in trouble, as Dyche not tactically savvy enough to change things. Everton fans in melt down and the ground must have been 60% empty with 15 minutes to go.. First time I have seen SD go straight in after the game and not acknowledge the crowd -he was angry. He needs to freshen the starting 11, as he has some good players like Coady & Dina, but suspect he will stick to this team tonight. If they lose to Leicester next Monday they may be gone,

Cardiff win at Rotherham to all but confirm safety. Might not have anything to play for on the final day after all.

Re: Tonight's football
I know teams like to hit 40 for safety but the way things are this year with so many struggling teams, I reckon 36 points is probably enough already. I'm sure they'll be happier to get 3 points against DL this weekend though (and I hope they do).claretburns wrote: ↑Thu Apr 27, 2023 9:41 pmBournemouth win 1-0 at Southampton, they're now 7 points clear with 5 games left and Southampton 6 points from safety with 5 games left.

Re: Tonight's football
Baffling why Everton did not give Duncan Ferguson a go ?
Re: Tonight's football
If Cardiff have nothing to play for they might not need their 2,000 tickets. Perhaps move the segregation over slightly for more Clarets in the CS ?

Spurs seem to have settled for a point. I thought they’d have been pushing for a winner far more than they have.

Re: Tonight's football
Everton were absolutely dreadful tonight
And the 2nd half non-performance from Man United (with a spectacular display of awfulness from Fred) has to be seen to be believed
Everton look in deep, deep trouble

Re: Tonight's football
Well I would say Maguire, who cost 80 million incidentally, plays in a much better team than Everton. So maybe that has some bearing on the performances of Evertons two centre backs who you should know are not or were not bad players ...... certainly alongside one Mr Ben Mee.KRBFC wrote: ↑Thu Apr 27, 2023 9:44 pmDyches record in the last 2 1/2 years must be atrocious. Re: Tonight's football
I think they are more than fed up and they have every reason to be.
What they are saying echoes exactly what we saw with Dyche.
Everton are gone. There’s no goals in them, and they are wide open down the flanks playing the likes of Godfrey there.
Being objective the only thing saving Dyche from a complete pasting is that he hasn’t had the opportunity to bring his own players in.

Re: Tonight's football
yeah and although when he joined them this season's relegation was almost certain be interesting how it goes next season for Forest Green but he 's been part of Everton for many years, knows the club inside out, did really well as a caretaker manager on at least 2 occasions and worked with the likes of Anderlotti. When your scraping around after Lampard considering people like SD (no offence but the board must have known the fans would not be impressed) surely he was worth a go ? He seems the type you would run through a brick wall for or be put through a brick wall if you have not put a shift in !!!!

Re: Tonight's football
Everton absolutely stunk the place out. They looked like a team destined to go down and too many heads dropped the second they went one down. There is a lot of poor players in that team, players who you have to question why/how they’re playing for a club of Everton’s ‘stature’ (Mykolenko, Maupay, Godfrey etc).
I’m shocked by what I saw to be honest. When Dyche went in it seemed they had an immediate bounce and were getting harder to beat. I confess, I haven’t seen them play for a bit but the difference between sort of February time and tonight was unbelievable. They’re going down, they reek of relegation (we’d know, sadly).

Re: Tonight's football
Jeez it looks like they've had enough of Dyche already. Not sure where he goes from here if they get relegated. Perhaps his time has been and gone?
