Match day programme
Match day programme
The only thing I would have paid for apart from my ticket was a programme on Tues night.
Feel a little robbed on such a fantastic night that I have no programme from a game with our rivals that finaly got us over the line for the league.
Are there any other clubs not producing a match day programme apart from this lot?

Re: Match day programme
Just add it to the list of many petty things Blackburn tried to do and failed.

Re: Match day programme
The following clubs do not produce a printed programme:-
Blackburn
Millwall
Reading
Fleetwood
Forest Green
Wycombe
Bradford City
Crewe
Mansfield
Bristol City
Swansea
Stevenage
The last three do produce a digital programme.
I believe ( although I may be wrong ) that it is compulsory for Premier League clubs to produce a printed programme.

It is compulsory in the Premier League - Blackburn claim to have a digital programme but I've not been able to find it.lakedistrictclaret wrote: ↑Fri Apr 28, 2023 6:14 pmThe following clubs do not produce a printed programme:-

The thinly veiled dig at our summer business smacks of jealousy, particularly from a club who benefited from Walker’s money.

I've bought a phyical copy because I wanted a souvenir of an unforgettable night but what an awful effort it is.

Suspect the horse fiddlers weren't best pleased to read that Vinnie "further strengthened his squad in January".
Re: Match day programme
There's another misprint on the same page. It refers to "a disappointing 3-0 defeat at Turf Moor in November".
I wasn't disappointed.

Typical of the PL. Don’t miss any opportunity to get fans to spend money.ClaretTony wrote: ↑Fri Apr 28, 2023 11:30 pmIt is compulsory in the Premier League - Blackburn claim to have a digital programme but I've not been able to find it.

Re: Match day programme
Or typical of the Football League who allow clubs to offer no match programme. It’s a tradition of English football all the way down to local non leagues.

Complains about the number of players we've brought in then goes on to show they have a bigger squad than us....

Re: Match day programme
I know it is Tony and it’s a fine tradition but if clubs want to go paperless it’s good for the environment surely?ClaretTony wrote: ↑Sun Apr 30, 2023 11:05 amOr typical of the Football League who allow clubs to offer no match programme. Re: Match day programme
Bearing in mind that paper lasts for ever (more or less) and is infinitely renewable, while the electricity used to power mobile phones is not, I suspect the environmental benefits aren't all they're cracked up to be.
Re: Match day programme
Guy called Mark Kettlety prints them & sells them on eBay - drop him an email at sundayonly1@aol.com and he usually gives a discount.
Re: Match day programme
I suspect the carbon footprint from the creation of ink, the creation of paper, the printing of the programme and the delivery of the programmes, creates a far greater footprint than an online version
Re: Match day programme
And on the other side, the collectible programme is a permanent carbon capture sink and the electronic one is stored for ever in some electrically powered internet storage facilities. Who knows.
Mind you, it might be better to use newsprint instead of glossy paper.

Re: Match day programme
You could well be right. It depends if we use paper quicker than we can replace trees. Having said that I still prefer real books to online but nearly always read online books now (but that may be down to me being a cheapskate).
