Staying down forever, is what the Bastards said, In 1987, they thought our club was dead,
We won the league at Ewood, now everywhere we go, We'll sing this song forever, to always let them know..
Allez allez allez...

Have the first 2 lines been swapped ? Daft as 1987 was before the plane?

Nice sentiments but let’s hope we don’t sing it too often - it’s a dreadful dirge
Let’s stick to Mind the Gap

It very much didn’t sound like a dreadful dirge today.

Went something like..

"Staying down forever, that's what the b*stards said..
In 1987, they said our club was dead..
We won the league at Ewood, everywhere we go....
we'll sing this song forever, to let the b*astards know..

Not usually a fan of Blackburn hate songs over songs about BFC and our players but thought it was brilliant hearing that sung today.

It's a football song not a history lecture.

It also scans better the way LB is suggesting, though that probably doesn't matter too much to the 120bpm massive, who's sole job appears to be get to the end of the song.

How about instead of "Allez Allez Allez" we sing "We went and won the league" it might give it a bit more of a unique feel

Drop the Allez ending and sing it to the tune of 'My old man's a dustman'.

I will, as they say, get me coat.

It certainly did - it doesn’t matter how enthusiastically it is sung - it’s still a dirge

Works so much better to ‘my old man’s a dustman’!

A lament for the dead? I don’t think so.
