Yellow Away Shirt

Post by Longsider » Fri May 05, 2023 8:23 pm

Have always preferred our white away kits but I am going to wear one of my yellow ones this weekend. What's your favourite away kit?

The blue Ribero third kit from the 91/92 4th Division Championship season.

Any news on next years Umbro designs and colours?

Always liked the away kit from around 1974 - dark blue with claret trim. As worn in the 4-1 win at Leeds

Arthur looks young on that picture - 22 at the time, taken in the 1964/65 season. That's the old pigeon loft at Stamford Bridge behind him.

Wonder if there's much of a correlation between favourite away shirts and how successful we were in a particular season? Guessing some people weren't keen on the green and black due to our results when wearing it

IMO, this season’s twin Blue away kit with Claret trim has been the best away kit in ages.

It’s been the best of the three for me but I’ve found it difficult picking up the numbers on the shirt when we’ve been behind the goal at night games and play has been at the far end, at grounds such as Millwall & Rotherham where the floodlights aren’t as good.

Haven't been bothered to search for it, anyone know if we're still with Umbro next season? I assume so. I like the kits this season. Home one is best in years.

Agree - the black one from 18/19 is far and away the best kit we've had in a long long time, closely followed by the navy and gold one last season and the white one from 92/93 with claret collar

I love the yellow and claret combination. The shirt design on the 2015/16 is a bit bland imo but the whole package with the hooped socks is a cracker

The 'Argentina' kit was about 1995 I think. The Adidas away kits from that era were good - the yellow/claret one in the Waddle season too

The true Argentina style kit was worn at home against Stoke in 2007-2008 .. for the 125 anniversary

The white adidas kit with sky fading stripes was worn in 1996/97

That Stoke game was the first game with Coyle in charge. I always thought that kit would have made a really good away kit.
