Such kind words about everything Burnley.
He's obviously sad to be going as we are sad he is going!
It's the right time though and his change of style under VK will have made him an attractive proposition for a decent Championship club.
Good luck to him for the future.

I called for his contract to be terminated after the drink driving prosecution I cannot be hypocritical, so glad though we allowed him to redeem himself here,a footballer whose real talent was identified by Dyche and he truly flourished under VK of late.
I was there for his first goal fingers crossed he'll score on Monday and I'll be there for that one.
Cheers Ashley for everything.

Fantastic words from Ash. Top player Top Man. Can only say thank and wish him every success for the rest of his life. Just needs to score a quick hat trick on Monday and then get subbed in last minute to a thunderous standing ovation.

I wasn't sure about him being here this season and felt it should be his last.
He's had a very good season, rolled back the years etc so it's been great to see l.
Bargain of a signing, given us all some great memories over the years and has established himself as a club legend of recent times.
I wish him well for the future.

Apart from the obvious against them down the road his late winner at home against Palace in 16/17 always stands out for me.

He was before & after regardless of VK he no doubt responded to the criticism when he was off form & words got said in his shell, the thing is all strikers have purple patches & hit good streaks, a big deal earlier on got made from something which would have naturally improved anyway.

His contract was up and I doubt it would have been renewed regardless of what BFC has achieved this season

You are probably right the writings been on the wall for quite some time, but it was important for him I think before the club's official announcement to make it his decision when it wasn't if that makes any sense, the promotion just accelerated revealing that news & dashed any hopes of an extension/renewal.

Good luck to him for the future. He could definitely do a job for a championship outfit for a couple more seasons.
He has scored some memorable goals in crucial games in his time at BFC. I won’t miss his sh1t housing though!

I doubt there was any liklihood of an extension... at least not on anything like the money he has been getting.
This opportunity at Norwich is what they call a "no brainer

". Better money and regular football at this stage of his career. I hope he gets himself a really good contract

Yes you can only wish the bloke the best of luck in his next chapter, our progression which he's been integral to has naturally left him behind as the passage of times passed.

I think I've something in my eye after reading that, no I'm not crying honest...
What a player he's been for us. What a top bloke who gets Burnley, both town and club. Scored some absolute belters.
Gets top marks for winding Mourinho up, throwing the bturd keeper in the net and being a first class sh it house.
A genuine Legend. I love him. Thanks for everything Ashley Barnes. You will always be a Claret.

Been a great, solid servant to the club over the years and it will be emotional seeing him leave.
But it’s the moments you remember, and the last minute winner against Palace and ‘that’ performance against the B***ards will always be remembered. Legend.

Ash, you've been a credit to yourself, your family and the Burnley family. Your skills were underrated but your willingness to battle for the cause makes you a footballing hero to many Burnley supporters. I wish you success in everything that you do from now on and if you return to us later I know that you'll do everything you can to be bring continued success to this club. You know the supporters here are a tough crowd to convince, so you'll need to be a success elsewhere first, to prove yourself as a managerial prospect here.
Thanks for all the memories Ash.
