He has an unbelievable engine on him and reads the game so well.

He literally mops up everything.

Consistency personified. Not sure I gave him less than a 7 in the match rating all season.

I'd have possibly gone for Beyer but for the fact Cullen has played so many games more and does the 'hidden' bits that aren't always recognised

I was torn between him and Beyer in the vote and ended up voting for Beyer in the end. Still agree though he is a very good choice and has been quality for us this year.

Everything you need in midfield, not that he doesn’t play but also allows others to shine at what they are good at.

Wonderful season and well deserved.

Needs a new CM partner in crime for next season.
Wonder who’s next on our hit list from the Belgian league.

Other than the Blackpool goal, has he made another error all season? Seriously impressive for the position he plays in. The best midfielder since Defour

Great to see that a consistently good player has won rather than a fleetingly brilliant player

The Bournemouth goal was a bit of a shocker but I'll forgive him this once 😉 ... And we still won

For so many players to have such a great season in a team that really shares it about it says volumes about the quality of Josh's output that he won both awards.

The signing I was most excited about. Got something right.

When we got the chance to vote I felt it was a fairly straight forward choice. There have been a lot of stand out performers this season but Cullen is for me some way ahead in his consistency and value to the team.

You could make an argument for a handful of players, it's been that good a season. However for shear sustainability Cullen thoroughly deserves it, and here's hoping he can replicate next season.

Absolutely mental he didn’t get any teams of the season. Most consistent performer in the league

erm yes have to agree: Defour was one of the best players I've ever seen.

Had he not had injuries at key times, I think he would have played for one of the European elites.

I think if we can get an athletic and high quality CM to partner him it will be a great step forward for next season-like some of the CM's Brighton have been discovering for realistic prices

A video compilation of Busquets for Barca appeared on my feed this morning for some reason. A couple of clips in and I saw similarities with Cullen in a similar role for us.

Budget Busquets. Does the leg work so that others can flourish.

well deserved IMO, few close but he would have been my choice for both awards.

I thought the message from Declan Rice to him was quite classy and really good for Josh to be remembered like that from a former team mate regarding the awards :)

Which is great for him and us but a crying shame that more could not be seen of Defour.
