It wouldn't surprise me if he's the only one.

So in terms of what we will need, probably a right back, a left back, a centre midfielder, a winger and 1 or 2 strikers.

A centre midfielder and striker being the two most important areas to improve - that’s where I expect the marquee signings to be.
the way we play with the persistent fouling of teams breaking on us will lead to us getting quite a few suspensions next season imho, we will need more than 1 midfielder of PL standard imho

Man City have a Left Back called Gomez

He was Kompanys star player when he managed Anderlecht. I could see us getting him in on loan

Philips on loan would be massive. He's exactly what we need to replace Corky. No doubt he is on a massive wage though. As much as I like THB, I'd be happy if we got Philips instead.

It’s a real shame about Phillips, really good footballer and would be a great signing for us. Nowhere near god enough for City but now his inflated wage demands will hamper his career and set him on a career path we’ve seen with so many other English footballers chasing the dream at big clubs they weren’t ready for

Burnley will inevitably go to a back three in some games
The only way I can see this, is if Roberts covers as a CB, and someone like Brownhill covers the right, or Cullen drops in to a CB position.

But, having said that, I couldn't see Pep playing 4 CBs with Stones stepping up to join Rodri. So who knows 🤷‍♂️

Dakhil/Ekdal/Beyer gives us pace, mobility, excellent passing and ball playing, as well as height and physicality. I think if we go 3 at the back that's the obvious trio.

If he wants it, I think they'll eventually end up taking an hit on him & he'll end up as a marquee signing for a villa or somewhere similar or loaned out, city need the strength in depth I think it's a move he'd have to agitate if he wants regular football.

I agree, if we went 3 at the back, that'd be the 3

But I don't see VK going 3 at the back as a basic set up, but rather shifting a back 4 in-play to play like a 3 at times

I would put your money on at least two, along with mine.

I find it very hard to disagree with the OP.
Think Foster needs a good pre-season for his development, if it's not working perhaps a potential loan move for him in Jan24 but not before Christmas.

Muric Stay
BPF Loan
Franchi Loan-out/U21
Norris Leave

Roberts Stay
Vitinho Stay
Maatsen Sign
Taylor Leave
Lowton Leave
CJER Loan-out

THB Loan
Beyer Signed
Ekdal Stay
Al-Dakhil Stay
McNally Loan-out/Sell as part of Gyökeres deal

Cullen Stay
Cork Stay
Brownhill Stay
JBG Stay
Bastien Loan-out

Twine Stay
Zaroury Stay
Benson Stay
Tella Sign
Costelloe Loan-out
Churlinov Sell

Obafemi Stay
Foster Stay
Barnes Leave
JRod Stay
Dervişoğlu Leave

Possibly. I think against some top teams we might go 3 at the back. Plus, Beyer's ball playing is so exceptional I could see him doing that in reverse and effectively occupying a second midfielder role at times.

Roberts/ Cullen at centre back? Seriously?
What is Brownhill covering???

Have I missed something?🤔

Yes

Cullen dropping between the 2 CBs, as he has done countless times this year

Or Roberts coming narrow, amd Brownhill filling in on the right which he has also done this year

I'm not suggesting these as permanent positions, just a switch at times when it's needed.
