The Lady.
Is the trophy presented to us the original one from the nineteenth century or a later replica?
Thanks for any help.

Re: The Lady.
Not sure, I know that the FA Cup has had several incarnations, thefts, and Replicas, but a brief search on the EFL Championship Trophy doesn't seem to reveal much.
Re: The Lady.
It’s a little known fact that the current FA Cup was made by Fattorini’s in Bradford. “Remarkably” they say, Bradford City won the FA Cup (their only major honour) the very same year.
They say “remarkably” I say massive ******* coincidence.

The original is in the National Football Museum and was retired when the original First Division ended in 1992. The one presented now is a replica.

Re: The Lady.
Now we've been Football League champions four times, we must be catching up some of the 'big' clubs who'll only ever compete for the Prem these days.

Re: The Lady.
We have lifted it more times than City, Chelsea, Newcastle (I think, without checking) and many other Prem teams.NottsClaret wrote: ↑Thu May 11, 2023 9:44 amNow we've been Football League champions four times, we must be catching up some of the 'big' clubs who'll only ever compete for the Prem these days.
Re: The Lady.
Strictly speaking we’ve only lifted it twice as it now spends its days in a museum. I’m sure it’s no coincidence it was retired when the Premier League started, the trophy didn’t mean the same as it had in the previous 100 years, so the replica became the new ‘second tier’ trophy.

Re: The Lady.
Wasn't the 2015/16 and 2009 playoff trophies in the trophy cabinet in the chairman's board room? I haven't been since the playoffs but i definitely saw that there so would assume the winner's trophy was there too.

Re: The Lady.
Would be good if over the summer the club let fans or at least season ticket holders go down and have a photo with the trophy. Could do it in the gym. Couple of days over summer, people book a time, would be grand.
Club open the fan zone and people buy drinks and pizza as well. You can have your photo taken with the fa cup at Wembley so I can’t see any security concerns.
Would be a good way to say thank you for our support.

Showing my age I suppose but I do like the old trophies. The "Lady" , FA Cup, Lancashire Senior Cup moving outside soccer The Rugby League Challenge Cup all beautiful cups from the same era, compare that to the Premier League cup which looks like a cast off from Disney World in comparison

We have a replica of the 2015/16 one here. Blew it up for the kids just before setting off for the celebrations on Tuesday night.
