Scott Twine and his free-kicks

Post by ecc » Sun May 14, 2023 12:40 pm

We know this lad is pretty useful with free-kicks, something we've lacked for a long time.

I was wondering if people who've seen all or most of his appearances have an idea of how many free-kicks he's taken for us.

Many thanks!

Don't know how many he's taken total but fbref shows he's had 5 shots from free kicks.

I can think of 4. The two he’s scored, one he missed from far out (not sure who against) and the one first game of the season he hit the bar.

I think it’s 4 or 5 but could be missing the odd one or two.

Not a bad hit rate that he’s got so far.

Hit the post against Huddersfield. Think he had one at Blackpool but struggling to think of any others. Good success rate.

Cheers lads.

In theory, if you can put free-kicks away in one division you can do it in another. We know we won't be given as many next season because we'll inevitably spend less time in the opponents' half. But with a player who is as accurate as this lad he should bag some.

From a quick check, it seems like he scored six goals from direct free-kicks in his last season with MKD.

If he can put one in right on the edge, then he has a pretty unique skill!

He’s hit the wall with one and missed target with another, hit the list at Huddersfield and scored two.
