Would Vinny take Vardy?
With Leicester's impending relegation (would love both Leeds and Everton to go down but think it will be one of them plus Leicester), I could see a place for Jamie Vardy in our team next season in the role of a Barnes / Werghorst has provided, with the added benefit of a more of a goal threat.
Bags of experience, highly skillful and could improve on our younger players.
Would Vinny see this as an interesting prospect in the all new, attacking based Premier League Burnley?

Re: Would Vinny take Vardy?
I think he’ll still cost a fair bit and go to a Brighton, Villa-type club. Maybe Everton if they stay up because they need reinforcements.
Won’t be one for us and with rapidly declining resale value, rightly so I’d say.

We missed the boat dithering over Vardy when he was at Fleetwood. He us far too old and too much baggage with his wife.

Re: Would Vinny take Vardy?
No, Vardy is done in the top flight.
One of the reasons Leicester are going is their failure to replace the threat he provided.

Better taking younger, developing players - a couple down the road, especially young Wharton

Re: Would Vinny take Vardy?
Not for me. He’s on the way down now and wouldn’t fit the Barnes role anyway
Re: Would Vinny take Vardy?
The question should be, if Vardy was available would he sign for Burnley? The answer would most certainly be no.
Re: Would Vinny take Vardy?
I really hope not.
Re: Would Vinny take Vardy?
Why on earth would we want a proven Premier League striker when we've got Foster?

Re: Would Vinny take Vardy?
Definitely take Barnes. He’s some player.
Maddison and Tielemans (also add Ward-Prowse) will end up at top 6 clubs.

Barnes been linked with a move to Villa and Spurs, while Newcastle were told £65m last summer, but yes we’d take him at Burnley.

we never said it was realistic, we said he's a superb playerJakubs Tash wrote: ↑Mon May 15, 2023 10:15 pmBarnes is an unrealistic as Tielemans!

I’d take Haaland, Bellingham and Modric in a heartbeat.

Re: Would Vinny take Vardy?
Can we please stop looking at OOC players over 30 and automatically trying to somehow link them to BFC?

Re: Would Vinny take Vardy?
I'm still shaking my head at what a gutless performance from Leicester that was
They had about 1/4 of a billion worth of players on that pitch last night and never got above "slightly bothered"
Big issues there

Re: Would Vinny take Vardy?
last night there were 2 x superb balls played into Vardy and it just isn't there anymore. His one attribute (excellent pace) is just not there anymore. He could be useful in the championship or possibly lower Premier.

You find a lot more out about both people and footballers when the going gets a bit tougher than when things are fine.Lancasterclaret wrote: ↑Tue May 16, 2023 8:57 amI'm still shaking my head at what a gutless performance from Leicester that was

I think Harvey Barnes is a terrific player, but £65m for him?
Not a cat in hell’s chance.

Wouldn’t be too much over 3 years though. We’ll be signing players for more than that this summer (fee + wages)Ziggy Stardust wrote: ↑Mon May 15, 2023 4:32 pmLol, him and Hazard. Why would Tielmans even think about coming here and whose paying his 100K+ wages as he's on a free? Can we stop sniffing the glue please.
