Absolutely only best wishes to Kevin Long. Always tried his best, never really let us down. Can’t really blame him for re -signing every contract that was put in front of him. Who wouldn’t?

Good luck Long, the Dyche era purge continues.
He’s only ever been a 3/4 choice so hardly a “ purge victim” is he ? It’s a new era and we had to cash in what we could , clear out the plentiful dead wood and build in VK’s vision .

Like almost any good player or manager it’s always thank you for the memories now feck off , it’s the football way .

Decent move, good luck as ever to good, loyal lad's.

Just say, he's lived a 'normal' life obviously his normal isn't our normal but you know what I mean, no drink, drug issues or gambling problems.

Does he leave us as a millionaire?

Wish him all the best, always been reliable when playing for us.👍
Saw him play at Brighton once, he slipped and we lost the game 🫣😜

I would have thought so. I saw him in his car a couple of years ago. A nice graphite grey Merc E 63 AMG Coupe. Not much change from £100k there.

This is true.
However, I can see any player fulfilling the "back-up" role for a relatively short period but not 10 years or so.
Every player should strive for first team football, in my opinion.
Didn't do Duff any harm all those years, in the end it turned out he was under-used!

Spent a long time as backup with certain managers. Laws and Howe come to mind.

A couple of less than reliable sites are suggesting we got 500k for him?
I thought it was just a free when I saw the 6 month deal, but the club announced an undisclosed fee.

So maybe they're right.

I like Long but it is a shame he didn’t leave earlier to play more games in his professional career as he’s missed out being a regular starter somewhere for his best years. He’s a very good defender and it would’ve been good to see what he could’ve done. When he signed his last contract with us he’d just had a decent run of games the season before and did well, and was getting international games, so perhaps he backed himself to earn a more prominent role which is fair enough. Hope he does well with his new club.

Seems that fans are surprised and would’ve liked him to stay.

Players starting in our final few PL games 12 months ago, are now no longer deemed good enough for lower end Championship clubs...

Yeah I've seen that.

The club have said there are talks ongoing with some of those released and some fans want him to be one of them

Don’t think that’s the case here by the looks of it.

If Troy deeney decides to call it a day, I'd expect him to move into punditry

Very lucky lad to last as long with Burnley. Never good enough for championship never mind premier league. Not surprised he’s gone from Brum.

Probably can't agree on new contract terms. A Birmingham fan I know thought he was a decent player for them
