Hard to see past a Newcastle win tonight, desperate though the Foxes are for the points.
3-0 Toon
And with hindsight it seems that Leicester weren't desperate for the points, they were desperate for 1 point. Obviously they prefer to trust Bournemouth's ability to avoid defeat at Everton more than they trust their own ability.
I did wonder if man of the match could have been given to the collective goalposts. They made more crucial blocks than anyone in the team.

I didn't watch the match but I can't believe that Leicester went into the game with Barnes and Maddison on the bench, before the game they knew that two wins were probably needed to stay up . Looks like Everton are staying up because they battle like we know under Dyche.

Avoiding defeat won't be enough though they actually need Bournemouth to beat Everton whilst getting the 3 points themselves a win & everton loss swing will be the only thing that'll save them.

That's incorrect.

Bullshit man strikes again. Leicester would stay up if they win and Everton draw.

That's fair dos my mistake, you are right I never factored in the GD & Leicesters is far superior, no bullshit I'd hardly get away with a football bullshit on a football forum with everybody knowledgeable about football.

Since the international break Maddison has been poor, as has Barnes in the last couple of games. Dean Smith decided instead to bring Ienacchio back and add another central defender. It was imperative Leicester did not go 1-0 down. A few games ago that would have been a heavy defeat for Leicester, but they actually defended like a Dyche team last night. It reminded me of how we set up last season at Spurs with just 3 games to go

Thing is, I get that, but deciding to do that with two games to go is far too little, too late

I thought Souttar looked pretty solid, neat and tidy and reliable.
Newcastle certainly like fouling goalkeepers at corners.

If Leicester and Leeds win their last game, and Everton draw, they all end up on 34 points, which is one fewer than we got last season.

Nothing highlights how poor the bottom of this league has been this season than that stat

You are right-Leicester are where they are because of numerous lack-lustre performances this year, and with such a high content of potentially good players who know they will not be there next season, regardless of what division they will be in. Makes Sunday afternoon very intriguing, and suspect the three respective set of supporters going to these three games will spend more time on their mobiles than watching their team

There'll be some accountant in Saudi now trying to work out how to get signing Mbappe through the FFP regulations.

Pointless working out the permutations as Lancaster has already told us it's a gimme for Everton against Bournemouth. As we know, he is always right

or more likely, talking to some lawyer about how to sign Mbappe while ignoring FFP regulations

Playing at home against a team on the beach not in great form, just needing a win to stay up
In football terms its as close to a gimmie as you are going to get
I hope I'm wrong though!

Everton fans must have been bricking it all weekend. They couldn't have wished for a much better situation going into the last day.
There are 27 possible permutations of WDL for the three teams.
17 see Everton stay up.
6 see Leicester stay up.
4 see Leeds stay up but 2 of those require Leeds to beat Spurs by a 3 goal margin. In both those scenarios Everton would stay up if they win by fewer.
Based on that the odds are heavily stacked in favour of Everton but if Leicester win their superior goal difference means that Everton have to win.
If Everton lose they are still odds on to go down. If either of the other two win Leeds go down.

Playing a team on the beach , needing to win didn't work for us, so maybe not as much of a gimma as our expert thinks

DiBradio sums it up pretty well
Everton have every chance of staying up, and its more than a little disappointing

Great point for Leicester. Keeps them alive and puts pressure on Everton and Leeds to win

In my view you've got to look after your own business. Baffling for me that Leicester didn't go for the win that would've kept their destiny in their own hands. They deserve to go down.

I think Dean Smith had a game plan here.
Keep Newcastle out for 70 minutes, then bring your most creative/dangerous players on and go for it in the last 20 minutes. If they had tried to attack from the off, they'd have been stuffed.
To be fair to Smith, it nearly worked, with that Pope save near the end.
The simple fact is that Leicester are not good enough, and they will deserve to go down. I can't see Everton slipping up against Bournemouth.
