It’s a different kind of physical.
The premier league is dealing with much bigger and quicker players. They are elite level athletes.
And our squad has earned the right to be there.
9 subs on the bench, I can't see any reason that Scott Twine won't be in our PL squad

Does the post not have ‘discussion’ in the title, if people aren’t able to discuss any player linked or any player we currently have then it’s a poor do

If Leicester go down I wonder if we’d have any interest in Kelechi Iheanacho. Still only 26, has been effective in patches and presumably well known to Kompany.

Linked to Galatasaray centre back Victor Nelsson, along with Brighton . 24 years old, Denmark international . Pretty sure we have been linked to him in the past

He sounds like a great signing. Love the standard of player that we are being linked with and the fact that the media are expecting us to be signing these kind of players, unlike recent years!

I agree, he has really got my imagination going, not sure why, but he is potentially a GREAT player working under VK again.

Exactly. Not only a good player in his own right, he's also young, has bags of potential and will have a high resell value. The exact "market" we should be buying from.

I don't bother reading anything from Turkish journalists any more it's just fantasy, and FootballLeagueWorld will repeat the same story ten times for clickbait.
https://www.footballinsider247.com/sour ... ent-talks/
There's been stories that he has signed for them already, then that above, now same again. I think his agent is trying to do a good job by getting Turkish media pumped up.

Just so everyone knows:
The Premier League has announced the dates for the summer:
The summer window will open on Wednesday 14 June and will close at 23:00 BST on Friday 1 September.

What happened to the window closing before the season starts? I thought that’s what was happening now.

It makes sense to me that the window would close before the start of the season. I think that the issue was all of the different start dates across Europe (and probably beyond).

Whilst I don’t rate him of course we’ll find a buyer for Weghorst. He’s playing for one of the top clubs in the PL and has a proven record in European Leagues. He just won’t be signed as a goal scorer for a Premier League club.

So he won't be worth very much. I imagine he's on a decent wedge with Burnley, something that not many clubs will pay for a non-scoring striker.

He’s not really much of a goal scorer. Two for us and two for Man Utd. He still has TWO YEARS left on his contract. Who on earth decided to sign him in the first place?

I’m still pretty confident that United will offer. €10m is nothing to them and their takeover doesn’t seem to be imminent, which may mean their transfer budget is restricted. I think they’ll offload Martial and still need a back up striker. Weggy will be over the moon with that providing he gets to do occasional knee slides after penalty wins.

Strange breed us Burnley fans.
We have a forward player good enough to play regular for Man Utd for the first time in 60 years and some fans think he's worthless?

Weghorst's goal record in the Premier League is remarkably similar to Nathan Collins'. Bizarre that anyone thinks he's good enough for Man United or that they'll be signing him this summer.

Someone will pick him up. I still think United will get him in permanently. It'd only take £10m which is chicken feed to them, even if they only use him as 5th choice for cup competitions. Weghorst will absolutely be pushing to get that deal through.

Similar to when we signed him, Weghorst was signed based on his previous record.
He’s proven over two different stints that he is not good enough for the prem. It dramatically limits the amount of clubs that can afford him and his wages.

He isn't on 100k a week and most clubs in Europe who would be able to sign a player like him can afford the fee.
I do hope we manage to sign 1 or 2 players this summer who you like, you may enjoy football at this club a little more.

Rumoured to be 60k a week according to the papers. Add into that a 10m fee and it’s a substantial amount of money for a 31 year old striker.
Already signed plenty of players I like. I can’t wait to see Some of them kick on.

Good enough is debatable and I saw enough of him when he played for us in the Prem, now he has 0 goals in 16 appearances for Man Utd this season.
Do you really want someone who thinks they are that good that they will leave the team if they're relegated, but can't score a goal?

For the record there are clubs in Turkey who want Weghorst permanently. He also isnt remotely good enough for us or Manchester United for those who suggest he is.

It's facts with his appearances, not mine or your opinion.
We have had some superb players in my 30odd years as a Claret, but none apart from Weggy who went on to play for Man Utd.
Maybe Ings moving to Liverpool comes close? But I don't think he played much did he?

Because we signed him for 10m doesn't mean that 2 years later we want 10m
