The Premier League has a "big 6", certainly from a media point of view anyway, Man City, Liverpool, Arsenal, Chelsea, Man Utd and Tottenham ( ) had to add a laugh for Tottenham.

However next season and certainly in coming years you would probably add Newcastle to that due to their finances to make it a "big 7", would Aston Villa be the next club?

Their form since Emery took over has been top 4 form and some of the players they are being linked with, below, are on paper superb signings (I know links are paper talk and 99% won't be valid links, but certainly shows the money Villa are willing to spend), any chance of Villa pushing for top 4 finish next season?

There are still huge gaps in revenues that the pretenders have to bridge consistently to become part of the elite group - we are heading to the possibility of a top 8 but that could easily revert back to a top 5 once the new Champions League qualifying rules come in (2025) and England gets 5 places every season - by that point the Champions League winners will be earning as much in TV money as the Premier League winners - throw in another £30m+ from matchday and the added commercial income and everyone else is onto a hiding financially -

It makes zero sense to say a top X really. Like this idea of the Super League. What happens if you get a team into that league and after 50 years they are no better than Macclesfield? Time will put every club into that situation eventually.

I wouldn't add Newcastle just yet, Leicester were pretty confident that they were going to be up there weren't they? One top four finish doesn't make them a top team.

There will always be pressure on the rich clubs, because until they can have squads of 200, clubs outside will be able to muster a team to join the mix, occasionally.
