We seem to be following a pyramid model - we start with our ideal targets at the top, then if we miss out we work down to plan B then C. Far more structure than in the past.
What other model is there?
The one where we dont have a top target and move the down the list, perhaps linear?

the annoying thing is Brighton will sell him in 2 years for 70 million, the model we are pursuing is the right one but we have to get them through the door for it to work!

We need to be patient as lots of players are still on holiday
Last season we bought some quality bargains and this season won't be any different it just takes time.We set a very high bar in recruiting last season and our recruitment team will deliver again I have no doubt.

In terms of where he’s going to go, I can only go off the recent info available and it does look as though Brighton are getting him.

We should get some sort of fee as it looks like we're doing Brighton's scouting for them.

Everyone knows that CT isn't employed by the club so not sure why you are even asking the question?

Fair play to you Tony. I don't know why people can't accept what you write at face value.ClaretTony wrote: ↑Mon Jun 19, 2023 5:00 pmI’ll tell you what, probably best not posting what I know. Saves having to put up with this.
It's no wonder people get annoyed with this thread at times when we have arguments between posters and posters trying to get reactions from people like yourself.
Re: Summer transfer window 2023 - rumours, links and discussion.
People belittle and pick on all those who are ‘in the know’ if they don’t immediately sell out their source. Lots of previous posters have gone quiet because of this, meaning a lot of valuable information doesn’t get posted.
There’s a WhatsApp group that is very much in the ‘know’ that’s more reliable than this board…
Twitter is what it is, people playing around fooling nobody and everybody all at the same time!
People seem to close ranks when it’s one of the ‘old guard’ but en massè throw in on anyone outside that circle.
It’s sometimes the way people write that gets under the skin, not so much the message but the manner. It could be seen as arrogant in my opinion. Each to their own mind…

CT knows far more than most on here. His info tends to be a lot more accurate than others when he can share it.

I don’t see why people are that desperate for scraps of info from people who claim they are in the know.
When we’ve signed someone, the club will announce it. Refreshing this page won’t make it happen any quicker.

People don't have to be in the know to find stuff out, and most of signings appear on twitter before they appear on hereStayingDown4Ever wrote: ↑Mon Jun 19, 2023 5:18 pmI don’t see why people are that desperate for scraps of info from people who claim they are in the know.

Just been told we have signed the keeper from orient, any truth in this?
Re: Summer transfer window 2023 - rumours, links and discussion.
This summer is fast becoming reminiscent of the bad old days when we miss out on all our targets but do manage to sign a third choice keeper

I really don't get why people feel the need to have a go when you are doing exactly what they are begging for and providing concrete information on targets. Questioning if he is an Agent or Official and suggesting only those two categories could know the truth, is having a go.

FFS
We have a great MB c/o CT and I think Robbonand one two others
The MB needs to be kept in check my moderators that keeps this a functioning MB rather shut down for libel etc
It is bloody obvious that CT is st times in the know as even I have been in the past
At least when CT says something it is largely kosher and doesn’t need retracting
So let’s please back off with snide childish comments and enjoy a bloody good football MB thanks to the majority of the posters the mods etc

Fabrizio saying Verbruggen is done:

Not that I doubted it after this mornings update but now looks confirmed. Really gutted about that one after missing out last summer and now this one as well.
Not that I blame us for not getting involved in buying a keeper for €20m. Hope this isn’t a sign of things to come with all our targets…!

This is perhaps a classic example of the pros and cons of our new policy. Last season, if I remember correctly, we bid 3m for Bart (who had barely played a game) and they wanted 6ish (?) and we balked. Now, after 1 very good season, he’s gone for 20m.NewClaret wrote: ↑Mon Jun 19, 2023 6:42 pmFabrizio saying Verbruggen is done:

I think you need to take a step back and consider how your posts are percieved by others on here, if CT comes out with some transfer info, why not just say "Ok thanks for letting us know, that's interesting" - there's a big difference between discussing potential incomings and just trying to get on his back when he's clearly just trying to give some insight to the messageboard who don't have the same connections.AGENT_CLARET wrote: ↑Mon Jun 19, 2023 6:27 pmI asked the simple question "Are you a club official" because I don't know, it certainly isn't having a go so put your bottom lip away, anyway back to Summer transfer window rumours, links and discussion.
He has a tendacy to tell us what he can, I'm not saying you have to agree with everyone and we all want to know more - that's the excitement of being a Burnley fan at the moment; but there's a time and a place. Comments like yours make the "posters in the know" feel uncomfortable coming forward when they get the opportunity. It's as simple as that. If it was a random new account who hadn't been on the board long, we'd all question it - but you've been around more than long enough to know who CT is, he's made posts himself before exclaiming at how his posts are jumped on and he feels he can't comment at times. You claim it was only a "simple question", but you knew exactly what you were doing.

Seems a shame to me that he’s not joining a manager/GK coach who tried to sign him last summer, signed him previously, etc…
But I suppose money talks!

Re: Summer transfer window 2023 - rumours, links and discussion.
I've said from the very beginning that there was absolutely zero chance of us signing Tresor!... Zilch, diddly squat, not in a million years!...Brighton in for Verbrugge
Napoli in for Tresor
Villareal in for Butez
Can't say I'd be surprised if we missed out on all three!
He will be signing for a far bigger and wealthier club than us.

You think that someone who works at the club would post that he had some knowledge about a signing and put his job at risk ?
Rather than carry on digging yourself a hole it would have been far easier to just apologise.
In decades of supporting the team I think last season was the first time I was told something about a signing which was as reliable as it could possibly be and from the strongest source there could possibly be at the football club. It was about Beyer and the option we had to purchase him which was agreed when we first signed him on loan. I also got stick on here from a few posters for mentioning it and wish I wouldn’t have bothered either.
It’s a pretty weird reaction to start questioning someone like CT when most of us just see it as a positive sign knowing that there still exists the possibility that the signing might not happen.
