It isn't funny to most, its boring. A thread on possible transfers should be interesting at least.
To trawl through the inane petty squabbling of self righteous children, it isn't why members joined this message board.
If you could think of a solution that would sort it I'd be all over it CC, but the internet is like this and its easier to laugh at people than take them seriously
Its just like real life, you meet people you get on with, people you don't and everyone just deals with it in their own way
I deal with it by taking the p**s, but each to their own!

I was surprised when I was told about him given that I’d seen no speculation.
So, is this an imminent signing then?
Seems a sensible one to me. Still young, but plenty experience.

He could turn out to be a "proper, no thrills" defender which you need in the PL, and probably make us better at defending set pieces. Reminds me of when Tarks came from the Championship to us (from Brentford)

He’s 6 1. Irish. Good solid defender. 24 so young but has come on a lot in last 2 years.

Think I will go along with the judgement of the international, premier league winning defender who is our manager, he seems to have done ok with the defenders we signed so far.
Never lasts long the feel good factor for some.

So,
If we now have Al-Dakil, Beyer, Ekdal and O'Shea presume McNally will be on his way to Coventry or elsewhere and THB will be looking for another loan club next season

Kevin Long never let us down during his time with us,maybe not the best centre back and certainly not the worst.

That's got to be right, or that signing would make no sense. Shame about THB. I think he is fantastic and clearly loved it at Burnley.

I quite like it. Especially when the thread veers back into talking about transfers and someone replies to a post from three hours ago to bring it back on track for its real purpose - bickering / whinging about people bickering / whinging about people whinging about bickering etc etc ad nauseam.

Tribesmen. Think you’re being unfair with that statement. He’s playing in a very poor Irish team at the moment. Probably the poorest set of players Ireland have had for some time. In my opinion when I’ve see him play he has been decent.

Apart from the game changing errors against Bournemouth and Brighton .. and that’s without really delving back into his earlier appearances

I know someone who knows someone who knows Dawson and he thought he was coming the first time in 2014.
He was sat in the stands watching our preseason game if I remember correctly, was that really 2014? Blimey

Must have been later than 2014 when he was sat in the stands against Preston, I know Dyche was linked with him numerous times.

I can see where Tribesmen is coming from, in terms of rating I'd put him behind John Egan and Nathan Collins, however he has captained West Brom, he's 24 and if VK rates him then that's good enough for me

Seeing that Brentford are close to signing Nathan Collins, does anyone know if we have any sell on clause from the deal with wolves or was it a straight release clause?

Dara O'Shea didn't immediately jump out as someone we should sign, but hell's teeth Kompany has earned our unconditional trust when it comes to recruitment, and even more so when it's a defender.
Those signings that don't excite straight away often turn out to be some of the most solid and reliable performers. Stephen Ward springs to mind.

According to the Molineaux fan web site Collins is likely to go for circa Brentford for £25 million so there won’t be much profit for Burnley even if there is a sell in clause.
Of more interest is that Wolves seem to be offloading players to “balance the books”

Depends what kind of clause if it’s just % of next Sale then might be a couple of mil but if it’s % of profit then it will be next to nothing

If O 'Shea comes off then what has pleased me is how quiet it was kept, leaving no chance for another club to try to get him. Seem to recall many of our signings happened this way last Summer. Means the regular stories and rumours about players, particularly those playing in the UK ie Gyokeres, Clarke, Kent, Che Adams, can just be quickly forgotton

Can’t imagine it’d be % of next sale, but a 20% profit on £5m profit would be £1m. Not too shabby given it’s unexpected.
Seeing Brentford spend £25m blows my mind. Shows what we’re up against.
Will be interested to see how he gets on there. He’s undoubtedly a real talent but he went down with us and Wolves were in trouble before they dropped him for Dawson. They have a good base to bed him in to though.

This is very true but can’t help but be underwhelmed by this one at fave value, especially at the muted £10m. But let’s wait and see, might be completely wrong about him

Especially when they have just splashed 22mil on the striker they had on loan last season, near enough 50mil on 2 players

Agree but our other targets this summer (from what we know) are sought after by three or four "big" clubs. Mikautadze for example. Think AC Milan and Marseille have been sniffing around as well as us. Not sure that applies to O'Shea.
