To be fair to Obafemi, he was played out on the wings when we saw him come on for us, which I don't think is his strongest position. I think he could be a useful asset. Would like to see him given a try up top and see what he can do.Tricky Trevor wrote: ↑Fri Jun 23, 2023 8:53 amWas the Obafemi deal with an obligation to buy or not?
If it was there is no discussion, he’s signing.
If it wasn’t has he shown enough to warrant signing him?

The Obafemi deal should have been thought of as a permanent deal from the off. Loan probably made it easier financially or something. I see no reason to think he'd be going back to Swansea.
Re: Summer transfer window 2023 - rumours, links and discussion.
If Federa signs some of our fans' heads will explode. You think Wood and Woods was bad.
We'll have lots of mentions of a former 8-time Wimbledon champion and a type of hat.

It would be a bit of a letdown after all this excitement for it to be O'Shea (who we knew about two days ago), The Orient lad (who we knew about two weeks ago) and Obafemi (who we knew about six months ago)

This could be on if Millwall are lining up a replacement.

A bit harsh, very rare there isn't going to be a situation where a transfer is announced with no prior rumours.Lancasterclaret wrote: ↑Fri Jun 23, 2023 9:31 amIt would be a bit of a letdown after all this excitement for it to be O'Shea (who we knew about two days ago), The Orient lad (who we knew about two weeks ago) and Obafemi (who we knew about six months ago)

Re: Summer transfer window 2023 - rumours, links and discussion.
When I saw Fleming last season he played as something between an 8 and a 10 - primarily playing as a midfielder, but also linking the game with his back to goal. That allowed Millwall to use him as a target whilst primarily playing with a relatively nimble striker in Tom Bradshaw ahead of him. Not hard to see how that might work for us in a 4231 next season- any of Foster, Obafemi or some of the strikers we've been linked with are in that nimble mould.RVclaret wrote: ↑Fri Jun 23, 2023 9:21 amFadera* is signing for Genk, calm down.

This feels like the calm before the storm....just a gut feeling!

One thing i like Vinny likes to get his players in soon as he can which was a bit like at City , not many last minute buys from him .

When
When do they return to training? , bet he ideally wants most in for then. Saying that those that have been playing in the internationals I would guess will have another two weeks off?

I don’t think he is in the know like he probably used to be,a lot of new staff at the club he never expected the O’Shea signing although not confirmed.I will guess 5 in pending by a week today let’s see if I’m right.

If that's aimed at me, I can assure you I've known about O'Shea for well over a week now, long before it got out into the press. You are right, I don't know many staff now but that's not where you necessarily get your information.

For christ sake it's a bloody rumours thread. Why do people insist on doubting others and having a dig at them. Just read the rumours and believe what you want and wait and see if it happens.
Definition of a rumour "report of uncertain or doubtful truth" Please bear that in mind when reading this thread.

Simple answer to that was Clarke was very much in the public domain and being discussed. I picked it up from the Sunderland press initially and asked my mate if he knew anything.Elizabeth wrote: ↑Fri Jun 23, 2023 3:14 pmYou get a lot of stick , myself I don’t know how you decide which information to share. Not sure if there were any loans that had returned to parent clubs just not playing internationally but that pretty much read to me these were the permanent players representing their club.
There was also a Burnley Express article where Obafemi is quoted saying that he is really looking forward to being part of the team and going again in the premier league. https://www.burnleyexpress.net/sport/fo ... on-4138935
