I can't stress this enough, you shouldn't be able to drive a column of motorised troops up a motorway without nothing happening to it

The Russian air force should have already been all over this and stopped it dead in its tracks and it just hasn't

Incompetence, war weariness, orders not going out, orders not being obeyed, it could be anything

But Putin has to get a grip today or he's toast

This could backfire on Ukraine. If they don't take advantage from this chaos, then I can see western Govt's only funding a stalemate from hence forward. There won't be the political appetite to throw billions at offensives that deliver little, especially in such favourable circumstances.

There's more to this than Prig and his bunch of thugs. French news are saying Prigozhin's forces working with FBS were already set up and prepared for a march on Moscow. All that stuff about being starved of resources was rubbish. They were stockpiling for this push. Putin is toast.

#Putin's special Il96-300PU (Point of Control) plane took off from #Moscow toward St. Petersburg at 14:16 Moscow time, FlightRadar data shows. The flight's destination was not specified, and it disappeared from the tracking system near Tver. One of Putin's residences is in the Tver region.

The aircraft is equipped to control the Armed Forces.

That's true, but the squandered troops and equipment, that have been lost and wasted since this war began, can't be replenished in a month or even a year.
The new regime might be pragmatic enough to cut their losses, and blame it all on Putin.
In that case we would at least have a ceasefire, and hopefully the return of Ukrainian land.
It's going to be decades before Russia ever recovers its pre war position on the world stage.

If that was the case they’ve won… Nexta reported that Putin is in the air looking for friends. Wagner needs Moscow to get to his targets… the whole military leadership, and overall control of Russia. The West wants Putin out but certainly does not want Wagner taking Russia lock stock and barrel.

They will also need to find a lot of money for war reparations. Some Ukraine cities have been totally destroyed and other important structures such as the dam will need replacing etc.

Noted last night that the US house issued a bipartisan statement warning Russia that any attack on the Zaporizhzhia nuclear plant (believed to be mined) would be viewed as an attack on NATO due to the radioactive fallout and would risk invoking article 5.

I dont think Kadyrov would be able to do too much damage to Wagner group. I'm dubious they would start a confrontation- possibly join them though if Kadyrov can be persuaded theres something in it for him.
