On the 'From the BeeHole End' podcast, they were suggesting VK may go to a back 3. Which would explain the Fascination with CBs
I just can’t see it personally, it would negate the effectiveness of our wingers which I personally see as our big strength next season.

I think if VK decides to rely heavily on a back three, he already has the tools at his disposal. With the lads we have Beyer, Al dakhil, o Shea and Ekdal, and with the season McNally has just had at Cov, I reckon he’d go with that lot.

I think we need a really strong partner for Cullen in the middle. Lokonga interest is encouraging as VK and JC know him well. That should do for us all.

Didn't start much for Palace in the prem though

That's the reason why he's possibly coming to Burnley. Otherwise they would or keep him at Arsenal or loan him out to crystal palace again or a higher ranked team.

He's not been used in the right way, and I think he's been treated unfairly after starting off very strongly at Arsenal, as soon as Xhaka was fit he didn't make the team again. I can understand he's ****** off about his lack of minutes. Never saw him function at crystal palace though. He'll do great for Burnley. Gem of a player. No doubts about him whatsoever.

Gut feeling only but I reckon we see three come in this week. Feels like we have a few closely set up now based on links (certainly Flemming, Lokonga and the young full back from Anderlecht) with just the final touches or slight upping of fees to be done.

I think you will be surprised. Cullen will no doubt play a big part this season but I think VK wants more ability and physicality in that part of the pitch
I think Cullen's experience playing in this system will be vital, certainly in the early parts of the season as other players bed in. Last seasons squad has proven they deserve a crack in the PL. Change too much too early and we shoot ourselves in the foot.

Fleming should be a claret if Millwall get what they want.

Collins to Brentford all but done - 23m. Do we get anything out of that with sell ons etc? (Sorry if already brought up somewhere else).

Verbruggen confirmed at Brighton.

Union SG are interested in Sadiki and are the likeliest destination for him at the moment.

We are spending 15 million on a player with 1 senior appearance who plays in a position we are already stacked on?

By the way, I really think this indicates that Kompany could play with 3 CB's in certain games.

So either 3 at the back is on the cards or O’Shea has been brought in primarily as a right back (?)

Ekdal
Al-Dakhil
O'Shea
Coulibaly
McNally?

We're playing 3 at the back surely next season...

Yes got to think that he’s almost a certain starter at that kind of fee.

Completely changed my starting eleven now if they all come off:

Muric
Coulibaly, Ekdal, Beyer
Roberts, Vrankx, Lokonga, Maatsen
Benson, Foster, Zaroury

Wonder where Flemming would play if we sign him. Left wing?

Would we better off going for THB?
City willing to sell I believe for a similar price?

Yep. I’ve seen a couple of interviews with VK since promotion in which he’s referenced the power and athleticism in the PL and how nobody outmuscles City.

He knows what’s required next season, be interesting to see how it all comes together

It’s just a theory on the back of what KSR has just posted.

VK has mentioned a few times how important physicality is in the prem.

I suspect the potential signings of Vrankx and Lokonga will go straight into the starting eleven to beef up the midfield.

Wouldn't be surprised if McNally and Ekdal were sold or loaned out, Ekdal was great but personally think he will really struggle with his lack of pace in the prem.
Other option could be Beyer playing at right back he's tailor made for the way Pep uses them

I do get what you’re saying but I see Ekdal thriving in a back 3. I think his out and our defensive qualities make him almost a must in a back 3

I think we could see one of our CB's playing the 'John Stones role'. Playing left back when out of position but alongside Cullen in possession. Time will tell!

That'll most likely need a left footer playing that role though!

And performance based extras.

For a player that young I bet the initial payment is loan fee of €x then in a year €5m-€10m with the rest possible extras and a €15m total package.

Also, I expect some further improvements in the Euro exchange rate which will make it seem better in Sterling by the time we pay our bit.

Wow that is some cheddar.
Surely you know the basic principle of premier league transfers is that they all start with a 1 ;)

It’s just a theory on the back of what KSR has just posted.

VK has mentioned a few times how important physicality is in the prem.

I suspect the potential signings of Vrankx and Lokonga will go straight into the starting eleven to beef up the midfield.
Agree physicality is important, but he was our player of the year and pivotal for the style of football we played. Unless the style of play has a drastic change, he needs to be one of the first names on the teamsheet for me.

Haha I know they do for championship teams. But I honestly thought this lad was going to be a hidden gem type.

For that fee he must have some pedigree behind him.
