He’d posted to say he was in Manchester earlier. Maybe returned to pre-season training today and received some bad news?

I can kind of understand it if he’s been told he’s been ousted after the massive season he just had for us.

But yes, a bit petulant but think Obafemi did the same.
I can understand his frustration. I think if Dyche was still here he would be starting (loyal to players), where has VK has admitted he’s a serial winner and wants the best players in.

Certainly interesting situation (if he is as ****** off as he looks best to get rid asap)

Minor detail but he could've archived them not deleted them.

I'm not sure how he would be sure not to be starting as No 1. He should accept the challenge presented by VK signing Trafford.

I would argue it’s the only position where competition isn’t really there. It’s the only position in my opinion where you have a certain starter every week.

In fact I am struggling to think of a team where they regularly rotate keepers (not including cup matches).

I've watched all full 90 minute England u21 games and nothing different, he's playing tommorrow watch for yourself
I've watched all the games and he has definitely caught the ball more than 3 times.

Good to see plenty of level headedness on this board to our transfer window approach at the start of July. Literally like last season never happened for some!

Yes, he found out that Maatsen wasn't training at Gawthorpe today.

You have to wonder where the guy from Orient fits in. He's 28 and clearly experienced and highly thought of and would have been playing every game for Orient next season if he'd stayed. He came to us and has no doubt got a huge pay increase out of it, but he isn't going to play in the U21s. When you think about it it looks very likely that we're going to sign a high profile number 1 (possibly Trafford) and this guy will be an extremely able number 2. That means Muric and BPF are pretty certainly going to be off.

I hope he stays. Luke Steele couldn’t even get in the Rovers team in lower Championship and struggled massively at Sunderland, yet last season he was arguably the best ball playing keeper in the Prem for Brighton. Not the best keeper but quite brilliant with his feet. Muric can certainly be a good option in our squad.

Yes, that is usually the case. But this is pre-season which gives players the chance to impress

From the LT

Posted further back a few days ago:

When asked how it would feel to play in the Premier League, Muric grinned: “I’ll tell you how I feel if I start!”

Make of that what you will - if anything.

Chelsea for me, are the most out of touch team in the Prem, since Todd Boely bought them. They throw money at people they want to buy, and have paid over the odds for very ordinary players. £25m for Maatsen shows they are in cuckoo land. I am certain no one is prepared to pay more than £12m for him-no idea why they think hes worth £25m

I hope Muric stays, but if you listen to what VK says in various interviews he isn't shy at making difficult decisions. As someone else said, he's a winner, and loyalty won't be high on his agenda.
I can't see us getting 10million for Muric, or should I say not if he goes to Turkey. This country maybe but not many others.

Until he picks up a long term injury and then you have (e.g. had this happened last season), BPF as your regular and Norris as back-up. This would be a disaster.
We need two top keepers with an excellent 3rd as back up if we are to be a serious PL team.

You’d think a loan suits all parties really. Issue is Chelsea delaying the deal as Poch might want a good look at him in pre-season.
Whatever you think of Maatsen he isn’t a top6 player and that should be Chelseas minimum expectation. Loan or sell is their prerogative but I can’t see him staying at Chelsea.

Remember when we had Heaton, Hart and Pope all in the squad? That is the kind of goalkeeping strength in depth you need in the Premier League. We shouldn't assume Muric is out if we sign Trafford.

I like Muric but there is something risky about him, be it fragility, confidence, being enigmatic or simply a bit shy. But for other clubs I have seen photos of him giving it the big one in celebration, but rarely for us. Odd. Maybe personally he is having a tough time, but there is something a bit weird and it wouldn’t surprise me if VK changed keepers.

Instagram is a dodgy platform though, only today Maatsen must have cribbed together a dodgy edited pic of him training for Chelsea today, because we all know he was at Gawthorpe

We signed Hart because Pope and Heaton were both injured and sold Heaton before Pope came back from that injury. We never had the strength in depth of having all three.

I believe we also had Lindegard at the same time, though he didn't play for whatever reason.

Probably because he wasn't very good. He was back-up at PNE before he came to us.

That's much more in-line with the kind of 3rd choice Premier League clubs want rather than thinking of Heaton, Pope and Hart.

Can add to that, that they are selling players on the cheap, in order to clear the decks for Pochs incoming.
How they can value an untested youngster, in a position they already have James, only 1 year left on his contract, as high as that is a nonsense.
So probably a load of ********.
Not that I wouldn't love to have Ian back, but the fee shouldn't be anywhere near as high.

You have started my day off with a chuckle, " no idea what's gone on" I think with the club entering into dialogue with another club & seemingly being on the cusp of signing somebody else to replace him might have just been the tipping point.

Good article in Today's Guardian about Trafford and being England's no.1 which should allay any doubts.

Gyorkeres still not gone to Sporting as of yesterday - https://footballleagueworld.co.uk/signi ... -gyokeres/

Surprised we have not had any further links to O'Hara given Vinny's keenness last summer. I know he picked up a couple of bad injuries through the season but I thought there may have been at least a rumour (however ill informed) given their interest in McNally.

O’Hare is out till December with an ACL injury.

Probably because he wasn't very good. He was back-up at PNE before he came to us.

That's much more in-line with the kind of 3rd choice Premier League clubs want rather than thinking of Heaton, Pope and Hart.
Yes, probably, but regardless of his quality we had 4 international goalkeepers at the time.

Wonder if Muric is off to Saudi.

Might be the best for both parties. Never know we might recover the whole Trafford sum if that is the case

Gabor Kiraly was an international
Danny coyne was an international
Nik the Greek was an international

Doesn’t make them any good.

Not really the point though, is it.
The fact is that we need top quality goalkeepers, possibly 3 of PL standard.
