Think the max anyone could have is circa 2500.

(Leisure above has done some quick maths but it’s four season tickets, not five).
It's 5.

it's not though Pete...when I order for away match I include 'friends + family' so we are sat (well stood) together.

That means that I'm allocated 20 points for say 3 or 4 away purchases.

It would be fairer to allocate 20 points to each person who obtains a ticket - even if its obtained for them via a friend.

Theoretically friends could attend all 19 away matches without being credited any loyalty points! :?

If you buy through family and friends the person who is allocated a ticket gets points when I order ours we all get points.

If you order for others they will all be allocated 20 points, not just you.

If you go onto your account and check Purchase History it should show that everyone who you ordered a ticket for was awarded 10 points. If not, suggest that you contact the TO.

yeah but the issue is (for me at least) who uses the tickets some people can get en-masse Pete? - I'll bet not all the tickets purchased on friends and family are all used by the people with the claret number and the points right...

which means that essentially the issue a lot of us had before (with over 6000+) points remains in that it is possible for people who don't have the requisite points and criteria can and do get tickets for away games and I'm totally against that :|

I don't mind you getting large amounts of tickets Pete for the supporters coaches etc using friends and family scheme (you work really hard organising that, and I've travelled with you previously with my own ticket), I object that when there are people who can no longer make the game and these tickets appear to end up with anyone who knows "someone who knows" - would be much better if the unused tickets were returned for others who meet the criteria to purchase.

That’s what the rolling system should hopefully stop though as people will be able to build their own amount up and not rely on people getting them for them.

The rolling system wont stop groups of fans without points getting tickets for Luton away like last season though - I witnessed that myself when I went (in the home end as I couldn't get a ticket) met them on the way to the ground, none had season tickets, all had to collect from someone at the ground (I assumed a supporters club organiser, but maybe wrong)

As a member I bought 2 tickets to various home games, but I couldn't change the name on the second ticket as that person is not a member, so both tickets are down to me.

Yes, so in that case you would only get 10 points.

They might have been players/staff comps? Think how big the playing squad and backroom staff is these days, if they can all get 2 or 3 each that's a lot of tickets.

Fair comment, I’m sure they would have boasted about which player gave them tickets though…

Luton they could have bought on the day without season tickets, after someone kindly posted there were spares at the ticket office on here. Most of the people who get tickets through different routes arent stupid enough to brag about how they get them.

Why do the club not allocate away points to you, when the tickets have been purchased through the supporters club you are travelling with. The supporters club need to give the ticket office your clarets number & name to be able to purchase the tickets, so Burnley should have it on record what you have purchased.

There is no practical system, other than draconian measures such as verifying photo IDs before entry, to prevent such abuses though. Like almost every other distribution system it relies, to a certain extent, on each participant's honesty. The government can't even stop those 'millions' of voter frauds they tell us about despite implementing lots of measures to curtail the right to vote.

The system that could work, is a random 10% of tickets have to be collected at the away ground by the person named on the purchase with ID.

A bit like “scan your own” when at the supermarket and a random percentage get checked.

They do that at Brighton, and it leads to all sorts of problems. Partly because they run it to the letter, as if they are trying to find excuses to ban people. It carries a half-season ban for home and away games to any "miscreants".

So if you have a spare ticket because your pal can't go, and you give it to another pal who had the requisite points, then it's a half season ban. If you give a ticket to a friend , even when there are unsold tickets available for anyone, half season ban. If you didn't get the email sent out the day before the game, your existing ticket that they sent to you is cancelled and you can't get in to the game. If you're making a weekend of it, you need to carry photo id with you or you risk missing the game.

If that’s the way football is going, I’m glad I don’t go anymore.

It’s getting worse now than Thatchers membership scheme of the 80’s.

More hurdles to jump over than an Olympic relay team. All for an hour an half’s entertainment.

So if you let someone else use your ticket due to a family bereavement it seems their attitude is "tough, that's not our problem ".

I may have missed something, but why do supporter's clubs get to buy up away tickets in advance? This seems to circumnavigate both season tickets and loyalty points. That doesn't seem fair.

Not sure it works like this anymore but supporters club were buying tickets for their known members years before the loyalty scheme, when it wasn't really an issue getting tickets 99% of the time. That was grandfathered over when the points were introduced.

I am not sure that happens anymore.

From the club's website:

When will points be reset?

Over the next week the Club will start the process of removing loyalty points from before 2018/19. Supporters will be updated again on 7th July once this process has been completed.

‐-------

It's now 11th July, and my existing loyalty points total is still listed when I log in, and I can't see that there were any updates on 7th July.

Brighton clamped down om it due to people buying season tickets just for the purpose of selling the seat to opposition fans. It was basically ticket touting being done there resulting in away fans in various parts of the ground most games.

I think it will take the club a lot longer than they think to change everyone's points. Especially with STs being bought in January of the previous year.

Not sure they have started yet though, I have someone on my friends and family list with A starting their surname. Their points haven't changed yet.

It “shouldn’t” be that difficult or take that long to do tbh

They have records of all transactions made and points allocated.
All that’s needed to be done is delete/archive away those made that are over 5 years ago

I think it will take the club a lot longer than they think to change everyone's points. Especially with STs being bought in January of the previous year.

Not sure they have started yet though, I have someone on my friends and family list with A starting their surname. Their points haven't changed yet.
Given the history is available it's clear that they have all the data so it's just a matter of writing a query and fine tuning it a bit for some outliers like season tickets and the season that you're not getting points for.

Bloody hell yours won't get sorted until 2026
He'll be ok then. Awash with loyalty points while the rest have been stripped!

It “shouldn’t” be that difficult or take that long to do tbh

They have records of all transactions made and points allocated.
All that’s needed to be done is delete/archive away those made that are over 5 years ago
I've spoken to someone who works in a senior position at another club's ticket office. They use the same system and us and said it is just putting in a date and pressing a button.

As my real name is Zhitomor Zzrtgrahpski, I'm hoping that it takes so long to update that I can get a Luton ticket with no problem at all
