Despite all the doom mongers on here I think that’s spot on.
Apart from it looking one sided because it really hasn’t.
This is aging well

England being bullied by the Aussies. Unacceptable showing this morning.

What was it that Ben Stokes said? Something about we might not be the best team in the world, but we'll certainly be the bravest.

Not sure about the brave part, but they're certainly the dumbest

Absolutely this. Someone mentioned brainless further up and it's absolutely right. At least 3 of those wickets have been avoidable...

Can anyone tell me how the most in form batter in the country can’t even get in this squad?

Baffling
Not really, he probably doesn’t like to play an attacking shot at every delivery as demanded by the BAZ ball philosophy.

Yes they have been bullied by a good bowling attack. Let's hope we don't burn Wood out by asking him to bowl a lot of overs seeing that Ben won't bowl and Robinson as well.

Obviously his face doesn’t fit , like Foakes
It is literally insane we have a young lad averaging 72 this season and he can’t get in a team of players that barely average mid 30s

Don't mean to be, and I agree, but as I say with the 1s and 2s we, or should I say he could arguably have won the game.
If you watch the innings back he wasn't avoiding the quick single because of his knee he was avoiding the single to protect Broad from the barrage. It worked perfectly until they bowled a wider line. At present he's the only batter we've got with any semblance of responsibility.

The blame lies with anyone but Stokes.

How long can he last next session? He's gonna have to go for it..

Whilst I agree, there is a difference in playing CC dobbers and Pat Cummins bowling at your swede. Another decent summer and he'll be in next year you'd imagine.

Keaton Jennings has been very unlucky with injury or surely he'd be in, he can bat properly and play the T20 stuff.

I agree but form is form.

These lads in the test team haven’t hit consistent big runs for ages.

Jennings and Hains should be at least in the squad.

Well, if we lose this test, then there is no excuse not to rebuild for the future

Still maintain that we are moving in the right direction though

Throwing away the 1st test has really affected them

I'm amazed just how stupid our batsman have become.

They constantly fall for the Australian plans that are so telegraphed even my wife said why have they got all those men out there to catch the ball?

To me this "Bazball" is giving players an excuse not to show some old fashioned ********, wear a few on the body and show some steel.

Ali and Woakes dismissals are inexcusable with the captain battling at the other end with several injuries but still fighting hard..

Annoyed with myself backing 4-0 & 4-1 and not 5-0
You'll be fine, we have a good record of winning dead rubber final tests at the Oval.

Problem is at this rate with our bowling injuries, we'll be going with Andy Caddick, Devon Malcolm and Dominic Cork at the Oval :D

That doesn't seem to be an issue though. Ash long as they go out and express themselves the management seem happy enough. They claim to have created a culture where there is no fear of failure. There's also no consequence for failure though. People willoy accepy entertainment first, winning second when we're actually winning. A couple of poor series and it won't seem quite so appealing.

it's rather like a testimonial game for our players, all they want to do is have a laugh and slog a few balls.

Jennings has been out injured for most of the season. He's only just come back, which is a shame as he was 180 odd not out when he got injured back in April

I don't mind our 8-11's batting crazy shots like Wood because they all know if they get 50 between them its a resounding success.

In infuriates me when Crawley, Bairstow etc do it and get out when they should know better.

If you think this series has been one sided you don’t really understand cricket.

Also, you were one of the ones who told us the declaration cost us the first test.
Make your mind up.

Australia's opening paid average 48 and 45 respectively. Zak Crawley averages 28. I still can['t work out how he keeps being picked and i seem to remember asking the same when we were trounced in Australia at the end of 2021.
