Next seasons kit
Re: Next seasons kit
Everton sell their children’s kits without a sponsor on anyway (as they’re sponsored by a betting company), wish we’d done the same.

Re: Next seasons kit
You can have white shorts for the men's team, but the women's team don't want them for obvious reasons. So the next question is, should the kits be the same across all teams (bar sponsors). I think they should, hence I think blue or even black or other dark colour shorts are the way to go

Aye, change the shirt to red and move the stadium to a plastic bowl on Network 65 whilst we’re at it as well because who gives a **** about tradition and identity!ŽižkovClaret wrote: ↑Wed Jul 12, 2023 1:41 pmYou can have white shorts for the men's team, but the women's team don't want them for obvious reasons. Re: Next seasons kit
Not keen on collared football shirts personally and think this new one just looks a bit bland going off the photos.
Wish it could have been like that 'concept' shirt pictured earlier in the thread, now that is a nice shirt!

It's a pair of shorts. We've worn darker shorts many a time.CoolClaret wrote: ↑Wed Jul 12, 2023 1:48 pmAye, change the shirt to red and move the stadium to a plastic bowl on Network 65 whilst we’re at it as well because who gives a **** about tradition and identity!

I love it. Love the collar, love the badge, love the blue shorts, love the socks, love the W. Does that make me a happy clapper or a crappy langer?

Re: Next seasons kit
Underwhelmed, as I don't like collars or buttons, for that matter, on football shirts.

Re: Next seasons kit
That's fair enough, you were only referencing my comment.
It's definitely not 'childish' though. Our global image will, in my opinion, suffer as a result of a kit that is so unappealing and adourned by a sponsor with no brand equity. There was an opportunity to have an amazing kit with a sponsor that ENHANCES the kit and has some synergy with what Burnley aspires to. Sadly we have chosen to take the short term 'cash out' route. I think it is short sighted but appreciate you and many other won't agree and just want the club to get cash in rather than try and build something that is more subjective.

Having see the up close shots, with the detailing I think it will look better in the flesh than it does on the promo shots.
I thought last years kit looked awful until I saw it up close and it looked great.

Re: Next seasons kit
Would like to see a return to interesting backgrounds printed in the shirt and the blue colour being somewhat more bluer and not man city blue, to me that is the wrong colour entirely, not sure when we started bleaching the colour out.
Looks like a generic shirt out of a catalogue, last years was at least thought about for longer than 3 seconds.
No wonder the old shirts go for fortunes online.

Re: Next seasons kit
I'm usually a bit of a happy clapper where kits are concerned. White shorts, Blue shorts, White socks, Hooped socks... don't really care. HOWEVER, that sponsor ruins the shirt this year. I thin it'd be a really nice, clean kit with the Classic Football Shirts logo on it. The W88 looks dreadful and just doesn't fit in with a traditional looking shirt.AGENT_CLARET wrote: ↑Wed Jul 12, 2023 1:14 pmSame reactions every single seasonlogo is crap logo is to big collar to big collar to small not claret enough to claret

Surprisingly for an old guy I loved the modern kit last season. The new one is fine ( I suppose) except for the Gold W of the sponsor which always reminds me of Wolves.

Will white shorts or light blue shorts have much difference to the reasons women want change?ŽižkovClaret wrote: ↑Wed Jul 12, 2023 1:41 pmYou can have white shorts for the men's team, but the women's team don't want them for obvious reasons. I can't say it will.
Let them choose there own coloured shorts and let the club carry on with a proper Burnley kit

Tradition doesn’t mean old, it means established/habitual. There’s no real tradition of us wearing blue and white stripes. However white shorts are traditional, as are white socks.TheFamilyCat wrote: ↑Wed Jul 12, 2023 2:07 pmBring back blue and white striped shirts. TRADITIOOOOOOOOOOOOOON!

Re: Next seasons kit
That's hilarious! You've completely missed the point. It's not about what the middle aged men on here think. It was about the new wider audience we are trying to reach. How do we compete with football brands currently much bigger than us? It's not with W 88, that's for sure. Nevermind.claretonthecoast1882 wrote: ↑Wed Jul 12, 2023 2:16 pmOur global image will suffer due to some middle aged men not liking a strip they have no need to wear is up there in the weird stakes of comments

The more I look at it, the worse it gets. I know it doesn't matter but it's a proper stinker. Sports Direct bulk kit for Thursday nights at the astro. Material, design, fit. All looks cheap.

How many periods have you had whilst in football shorts?
Unless the answer is anything other than none I’d suggest winding your neck in on this one.

What research have you done globally and how did you do this speaking from such a position of authority.
Re: Next seasons kit
After all the hoohah, the monochrome badge would look much better on this shirt. As I've said earlier - pick a blue and keep to it.

I am not being in any way sexist, just practical. If the reason cited above is that for not having white shorts, surely we should have had claret shorts. That would have made far more sense. It’s not like we haven’t had claret shorts before.

Personally I love it. I’m not a big fan of overly fussy tops but that may explain why my tops are all the old classic tops , just simple claret and blue

Re: Next seasons kit
Think the marketing team should be looking at the short debate as an opportunity… make white shorts for the men’s team with blue shorts for ‘clash of shorts’ as we used to…. And blue shorts for the women’s team. Tradition is satisfied, the women’s team is catered for, and fans can buy both white and blue as ‘first kit’… if they get there act together and have the kit out before Burnley Wakes week they can mop up with fans wanting both for their holidays….

As it happens, this year they are only a week late, it would have started last Saturday, 8th July.

Re: Next seasons kit
The sponsor dominates over everything, Massive Gold W... with pretty big white text underneath. Doubled up massive sponsor, just looks awful.
Hoping the sponsor colour on the away one is like Villa's was at least, with a claret coloured sponsor. I like the look of the Claret on blue, at least it blends in.

Agree with the post above that I actually think the monochrome badge would’ve worked better on it. Other than that, it’s difficult to get excited about it though it’s not as bad as some are making out.
