Pre Season Friendly Feed Back
Pre Season Friendly Feed Back
Hi all,
With all the conversations around the players we are signing and looking at, and the potential of different systems/formations depending on the opposition, I though it may be good to have feedback from those lucky enough to get eyes on any of the pre season friendlies, whether that be from behind a bush or the stand, and hold it in in place. Formations, Team selections, counter or press etc. I know after the horse as bolted with a few matches already played, but feel free to retrospectively update if you have any information.

Re: Pre Season Friendly Feed Back
The only one I have watched so far was the Burton game. Nothing more than a fitness exercise so couldn’t take away much regarding formations etc.
If I had to guess what we were playing it looked a 4-1-4-1.
I might go and watch tomorrow as well and see if anything is any clearer.

There's 24x7 security now and they've even put covers around the top pitch so you can't see from the road. Not sure where we played the Burton game or where StayingDown4Ever was watching from.Hurstwood_Claret wrote: ↑Thu Jul 13, 2023 8:55 amHow can we get in?? Any recommendations for good viewing places?

Al us so far. Gudmundsson should have done better with a header than went narrowly wide.

Twine looking sharp.
Playing in the new kit by the way - actually looks better than I thought it would.

Last time I was down there they’d covered the fencing so you couldn’t see.StayingDown4Ever wrote: ↑Fri Jul 14, 2023 2:57 pmPitch that runs alongside the main path towards the hall.

I walk the dog down there and you can see through slight gaps but you’d have to be pretty mental to be peeping through a netting in the ******* down rain to watch a training gameClaretTony wrote: ↑Fri Jul 14, 2023 3:00 pmLast time I was down there they’d covered the fencing so you couldn’t see.

Alarmingly, not all the transfer activity may be incomings… again, nothing concrete but there are a few clubs sniffing around a couple of the better players from last season as you would expect and bids potentially expected next week. They’d have to significantly up the rumoured offers I heard though to even start talks in my opinion.

No formal offers submitted but the numbers being banded about would be instantly dismissed if they were offered in my opinion and I’m sure in the Chairman’s opinion.

We must hold the record for the number of medicals planned that never translate into signings if you go by the postings on this board.
There seems to be a few pencilled in every day of the week at the moment.
