We should also have put an option to buy in any loan move for palmer

Article on Trafford medical.
15% to Carlisle is big for them.

Palmer, Trafford and THB from City would be fantastic if we could pull this off

I’m led to believe that Trafford has already had his medical.

It would be good if we could get an option clause put in on Palmer but I suppose City would rather see if he tears it up in case they could get more for him in a years time.

Hasn’t Trafford already had his medical? Was reported by various outlets over a week ago that it was due earlier this week.
Re: Summer transfer window 2023 - rumours, links and discussion.
Wasn't his medical delayed? That's what they said on TurfCast on Wednesday.

I think it’s the other way round on this board, too many have been propping up the end of the bar for far too long imo.
Re: Summer transfer window 2023 - rumours, links and discussion.
I don’t rate Palmer on what we’ve seen so far. Granted I haven’t seen him as Kompany/Pep will have done.jedi_master wrote: ↑Sun Jul 16, 2023 8:55 amIt would be good if we could get an option clause put in on Palmer but I suppose City would rather see if he tears it up in case they could get more for him in a years time.
I just don’t think he’s given a loan away from City if he’s good enough. Look at Peps management of Foden for comparison
Re: Summer transfer window 2023 - rumours, links and discussion.
City willingness to loan a player doesn't mean they wouldn't
good enough for us

Foden is a poor example, if palmer was on fodens level then obviously he wouldn’t be available for loan or transfer. Him not being good enough to be at Man City certainly doesn’t mean he’s not good enough for Burnley

Re: Summer transfer window 2023 - rumours, links and discussion.
I'm with Cooclaret on this one I'm not overly impressed with Palmer but again I've not seen how he'd stack up in our team, more than happy to be wrong but I think I'd prefer Tella back if given the option.
Re: Summer transfer window 2023 - rumours, links and discussion.
I agree with the talent discussion. I just don’t think if Palmer was a ‘good type’, Pep lets him out of the club.123EasyasBFC wrote: ↑Sun Jul 16, 2023 9:03 amFoden is a poor example, if palmer was on fodens level then obviously he wouldn’t be available for loan or transfer. Personally, I don’t think he’s going to improve the left wing offer massively, and he’s going to come with a significant playing time clause.
Re: Summer transfer window 2023 - rumours, links and discussion.
Palmer would be a brilliant signing for us. Can play anywhere across the front, left, right, attacking midfield, false 9… and has the pedigree of playing for City, many levels above us. Surely we can convince City a Prem move would be better for him.

Re: Summer transfer window 2023 - rumours, links and discussion.
Reading what’s been said, I don’t think is offering PL football or not is the defining factor with City. I think it’s guaranteed football and I can’t see VK offering and any guarantees.
Re: Summer transfer window 2023 - rumours, links and discussion.
He's not a left winger
Re: Summer transfer window 2023 - rumours, links and discussion.
Possibly but I do think Palmer would feature in pretty much every game. Like I said his versatility is something VK will really like and we’d see him left, right and central throughout the season.gandhisflipflop wrote: ↑Sun Jul 16, 2023 9:25 amReading what’s been said, I don’t think is offering PL football or not is the defining factor with City. We should take your and Cooclarets opinion on this then and back out of the deal, thanks for the info. You must have a better eye for this sort of thing than Kompany.louieollie wrote: ↑Sun Jul 16, 2023 9:06 amI'm with Cooclaret on this one I'm not overly impressed with Palmer but again I've not seen how he'd stack up in our team, more than happy to be wrong but I think I'd prefer Tella back if given the option.
I also believe Nixon's statement that Trafford is only £13 million up front.

I would be Tresor too, for the same reason.gandhisflipflop wrote: ↑Sun Jul 16, 2023 9:43 amTresor or just because he would be our player, however this has gone a bit quiet recently unless I’ve missed something?
Very quiet. Maybe waiting to hear on Palmers availability, who knows?

I can see Palmer wanting to come to us and I’d be delighted if he did. Looks a real player.

Re: Summer transfer window 2023 - rumours, links and discussion.
Am I the only one who expects quite a few attacking players to come through the door?
I think VK will want more than last season.
We had Churlinov (technically still do)
Needed competition for Zaroury.
Tella not back (yet) .
I think Tella will come back but that’s 2/3 before you think of getting an extra one in on top.
So 3/4
Palmer
Tresor
Mikautadze
Tella
All very versatile and not fixed to certain positions .
Very exciting if all these boys joined . Albeit , a little fantasy in there .

I think we will get a good few in, not based on any inside info or anything, just on track record of the new set up and that if we land two or three players, we should stay up, and no way will VK / ALK want to put that at risk.

Sorry, you probably didn't deserve that. Just a bit miffed with this thread constantly being derailed when we have an entire messageboard for discussion. At least your discussion was about a rumoured player.

+ Tella for sure.
Trésor looks the most impressive out of all of them, a real talent.
Palmer is still young but I don’t think he will impact PL games in a manner that we need - had hardly any first team football for a 21 year old.

Re: Summer transfer window 2023 - rumours, links and discussion.
I think some are just worried. We are considerably weaker at present than at the end of last season. We have effectively lost Maatsen, Tella and Barnes and not replaced them as things stand. They were all a massive part of our team last season and we need to bring in some new blood if we can't get Tella or Maatsen back.AGENT_CLARET wrote: ↑Sun Jul 16, 2023 10:17 amI pray to God we sign a few player's next week just to stop the bitching
There has been a lot of promising rumours which have come to nothing and people still remember the problem we had with signings in the SD era. Let's just all give each other a break and understand there will always be glass half full and glass half empty people. There's still over 3 weeks to the first game and even longer before the window closes so let's just all chill and discuss possible incomings and leave each other alone. I agree this thread goes off topic quite a lot with too much in depth discussion about team tactics and current/previous players but I won't be losing any sleep over it because I'll probably fall asleep while trawling through everything on this thread

I for one would be happier if at least we got tella and maatsen or their replacements back in to bring us back to what we were last season, but feel we need at least a midfielder and someone to compete with zaroury.

Not overly bothered regarding Palmer but we have to remember that Jay is usually crocked for a long while as well and we have no idea wether Weghorst is staying or not. (I’ve noticed when you go on the website to personalise a new shirt his name and number isn’t an option) . We will need a good few in and obviously more quality. I think come the end of the window we will have spent a considerable amount of money.

Kicker linking us along with Southampton to Bruun Larsen again. Bit thin on details but mentions the possiblity of a permanent or a loan.

Palmer would be a cracking signing, he can play LW RW CM CAM links play and scores he's just the type of player we need to fill in a variation of positionsHedontplayforyou wrote: ↑Sun Jul 16, 2023 10:55 amNot overly bothered regarding Palmer but we have to remember that Jay is usually crocked for a long while as well and we have no idea wether Weghorst is staying or not. I do find it difficult to believe as credible when it’s reported that any club is about to make a bid or another bid.
Why would the people who decide to make a bid, reveal that first to any third party rather than the club they are negotiating with ?
