Sky Sports News reported earlier that Millwall are wanting £13m for Flemming and we’ve had 4 bids turned down. Do we think that ship has sailed?
It all depends.
If the bid has been turned down because of how it is structured, maybe not. But if they want another £5m then it's definitely doomed

Guesswork but I think we'll sign:
Tella - Permanent
Lokonga - Loan with obligation to purchase if we stay up
Maatsen - Loan with no option
Purely based on where we are as a squad right now and the fact that The Athletic said yesterday that we are still pushing for Maatsen and Tella. As other targets have reared their head and then gone away, those two keep coming up (understandably) and remain areas where we are more than likely seeking a player. Lokonga is just based on the obvious Kompany link and the fact he's available from Arsenal - feels an obvious one to me.
I heard yesterday Maatsen won't be allowed out on loan unless he signs a new deal at Chelsea - something to do with PL rules. Now I can't confirm if that's correct but it's the PL so it could well be !

Is that to stop loans in the final year of a players contract?
Would make sense I suppose

Patrick Vieira and VK are good pals so the rumours surrounding Diallo and Strasbourg may have some legs

Can't see anything mentioned in the rules. Chelsea might be forcing him to sign a new deal so he can't walk away next summer.

Doesn’t really make sense to me, unless I’m missing something. If a club wanted to loan out a player in the last year of their contract, why would this be an issue to the Premier League, or any other league?
I can see why Chelsea are putting down an ultimatum. It’s pointless to them to allow him to go on loan unless he commits to a longer deal.
The ideal for us would be for Maatsen to demand a move - not very likely when he could potentially sign a much more lucrative deal at Chelsea.

Must be a rule change because maitland-miles was on loan at Southampton and was out of contract at arsenal at the end of the season and is now a free agent

Everyone keeps mentioning Maatsen, but does anyone think we have a chance of getting Lewis Hall on loan from Chelsea?

Rule? I’m fairly certain there’s no rule. Why would it be a PL rule? Surely any decisions are between the player and club.

Might just be an age thing. I can’t see any issue with it to be honest . Lowton went to Huddersfield on loan this season as an example .

like I said, and have repeated at least 3 times already I couldn't say if it was correct and haven't tried to look up any rules, it was mentioned here at about 18 minutes

yeah which is why I back it up with 'i've no idea if it's correct' or words to that effect - it's not something I'd ever come across but it is the PL and they do like to over complicate things with rule changes

This Mercato geezer may well be saying Tresor is a priority for Brentford, but does the reverse apply?
I would imagine we are now a bigger draw than Brentford. Especially to a Belgian. I have always imagined Tresor with us in the number 10 role JBG was in, not wide left or right, so I don’t link it to Redmond.
Unsure if Tresor is back to play tomorrow but they do have a Champion’s League match on Tuesday so it wouldn’t surprise me, it equally wouldn’t surprise me to see a deal thrashed out. I tend to believe we have plenty of money available, I predicted back in May we would spend £100m and I’m sticking with that. It doesn’t all come out in one season of course.

If we were not I doubt Tresor had spoken so openly about us in early June, and media had reported Lokonga and Tresor as our two premium targets almost from day one. So I suspect we have been in for him, and hard, but are being hard about the asking price too. Whether we get it done I suspect will be down to that.

We’ve definitely been in for him but as now seems to be the new policy, we quickly walk away if it looks like a bidding war is going to start or the price isn’t in our range - as we did with Verbruggen and the Georgian lad.

It might be that Arsenal knew they wouldn't be renewing Maitland-Niles as he has played in the Premier. Maatsen has only played in the Championship so Chelsea might not want to take a chance that he has a good season and then is free.

A much better all round player than Maatsen
Played a reasonable number of minutes for Chelsea last season and would be third choice before Ian
Maybe a loan is possible but doubt they would let him leave permanently

Who are we selling for that much?
Wouldn't be all that suprising to see us cash in on any of the following:
Muric - £7m
BPF - £2m
McNally - £5m
Egan-Riley - £2m
Taylor - £4m
Bastien - £3m
Churlinov - £4m
Weghorst - £8m
There's £35m without even trying.

My initial comment was that we could cash in £30-40m to offset the expenditure. Only gave some examples when pressed. Could had added other names to the list too.
It's a pleasant day over in cloud cuckoo land anyway.

I think it's about understanding the world of difference between negotiating a price for highly valued players that you really want but the other club would be happy to keep...
...or when you're clearly trying to offload players who haven't come up to scratch or are past their use by date.

Peacock- Farrell (Nixon):
Burnley keeper Bailey Peacock-Farrell has been cleared to sign for Danish side Aarhus.
Northern Ireland cap Peacock-Farrell has slipped down the rankings with the signing of James Trafford and can go.
Aarhus hope to clinch a deal this weekend despite rival interest from Sheffield Wednesday and Birmingham City.
The Owls have been trying for Peacock-Farrell for weeks as they wanted him back for a second spell.
Blues were also interested, with keeper coach Maik Taylor a fan from the Irish National set up.

Interesting move for him - hope it's permanent.
I thought he did alright when needed last season and was assured in a few games like Coventry away when called upon - not to mention his role in setting up Obafemi for the late equaliser against Watford. Unfairly maligned overall for me and also a sound lad. Good luck to him.

Done nothing wrong, but done nothing to suggest he's going to be our No 1, so its best for him and us that he moves on

Random move that. Wonder if it’s loan or perm.

Their manager is Uwe Rosler who was Leeds boss when BPF was breaking through there
