Hungarian GP F1
Hungarian GP F1
Anyone watching. Thought there would have been a thread considering the incumbent who got pole yesterday.

The greatest GP driver (ever?) got pole. Great achievement considering the equipment he’s using…

Re: Hungarian GP F1
I like Lando but a shame on Piastri that McLaren gave Lando the preferential strategy, though you could argue Lando deserved getting in front of Piastri with his superb outlap.
It is so good to see McLaren doing well with these new upgrades. I shall be at Belgium next week with a tour around the McLaren garage, rain expected on Friday and Saturday for qualifying and the sprint, and Lando in this McLaren will love the wet weather.

Ferrari are falling further down each passing GP.
Good to see The McLarens up there again.
Max proving a cut above everyone yet again

Re: Hungarian GP F1
I know I’m probably not in the majority, but since F1 left normal telly for $ky, I’ve not watched a single race. During the season it was part of my Sunday routine.
It’s probably the one sport (footy excluded, obviously) that I actually miss when it’s not available.

Man city won’t win every game 6-0 though. Red bull win ever race by 30 seconds.claretburns wrote: ↑Sun Jul 23, 2023 4:40 pmWell Man City are going to win it, so what's the point in watching it if you know the winner before?

Not liking F1 is like liking real ale.
You have to bore people (who never asked) to death as to the reasons why.

And well done to them and Adrian Newey for developing another fantastic car, however their dominance is diminishing with their lack of wind tunnel availability.RickyBobby wrote: ↑Sun Jul 23, 2023 5:12 pmMan city won’t win every game 6-0 though. Red bull win ever race by 30 seconds.
But for someone who is not a Red Bull/Ferrari/Mercedes fan it is great throughout the season to see the other teams develop in the midfield, look at the start of this season with Aston Martin and Alonso surprising everyone with their development over the winter and then for all teams, apart from Red Bull, to be surpassed by McLaren over the past two races, Norris at the start of this season was finishing 17th, 18th and 19th etc now he has come 2nd the past two races, that is the beauty of F1, any incident can happen on any lap of any race, any development can make a team go from the back of the field to the front and vice versa.

F1 threads used to be fairly popular on here. There’s a lot of people who enjoy F1 the tactical side of it is fascinating.

Re: Hungarian GP F1
I started watching F1 again this season after losing interest after Vettel and then Hamilton's domination of the sport and now Max is doing the same, so i don't see why so many (particularly the Sky sports commentators) are moaning about his domination.
I enjoy following the middle and back order of the grid and with Sky's new battle camera, it's much more exciting a view than the main stream where watching pit stops seems to be the most dramatic stuff they show. Just wish Williams were a bit (a lot) better than they are.

Re: Hungarian GP F1
The hope is with the appointment of James Vowles in January that over the next couple of years Williams could be a lot better.
However with new regulations coming into F1 in 2026, it might already be a time for lower level teams such as Williams, Haas, Alpha Tauri etc to maybe begin developing their 2026 cars to get a headstart on the rest. Though it might be to early for that.
