I can't say I had seen much of him. Did he bowl well in the Ireland Test?
I thought Potts was the next youngster in line at the time?

Tongue is certainly on the radar now though.
Bowled really well, no wickets in the 1st innings when he only bowled 13 overs, but took 5-66 in 21 overs in the 2nd innings in which Ireland scored 362 and the "slower" bowlers struggled to dislodge an Ireland team are who aren't in the same class as Australia.

Need to bat all day Saturday, build an innings not reckless bazball. Both teams evenly matched since Lyons injury and we deserve to share the Ashes.

Unfortunately there's quite a lot of potential rain forecast for tomorrow and Monday, so it could ruin the game.

Need to treat it as a four day game so need to score quickly (but also sensibly so not to find ourselves 200 all out by mid-afternoon).

Ideally we'll be 300 in front with time for a few overs at them before the close tonight.

Think some have got to realise Bazball is here to stay as long asStokes is captain. We are not going to play any differently.Much rather watch it than they way Australia batted firstinnings.I turned it off after a while it was so boring.

Crawley was my worry before the series. With his tendency to nick off I thought he’d be exploited.

He’s been excellent.

Crawley has scored more runs in this series than either Cook or Strauss ever managed in a home series.

Crazy.

Zak Crawley has faced 103 overs less than Usman Khawaja in this series, and has scored more runs than him

Wonderful day so far really for England.

A long way style to go but if we’re setting them anywhere around 400 to win then I think we’ll be laughing.

Shame Moeen got his injury but I’m sure Root will be happy bowling 20+ overs

As a batsman he's brilliant when on song.

As a wicketkeeper he'll be remembered as one of the worst that England have ever had.

Brilliant partnership by the Yorkies. Game could have gone either way at 222-4 when Bairstow came in. He’s now scored 70 out of the century partnerships with Root. Sadly that’s unacceptable for some on here

I've seen very little criticism of Bairstows batting on here. That's in people's imagination.

It's the decision to play 5 ashes test matches without a proper keeper that folk are scratching their heads over. It can't be proved but I'm pretty dammed certain it's cost us the ashes.

So I guess if Australia lose this test it will be Carey’s fault for dropping Brook on 5 in the first innings. Root gone but a great innings by him

The weather cost us the chance to go to the Oval at 2-2. However, we shouldn't have been 0-2 down. I wouldn't lay all the blame for that at Bairstow's door but his errors have certainly contributed.
