Parklng next Friday

Post by brexit » Fri Aug 04, 2023 11:51 am

Just been told that the travellers are back in Townley park. Are they in the woodgrove car park? I am assuming local streets will have parking restrictions. If so, any recommendations on where to park?

Sure the restrictions around the ground only apply on a Saturday & Tuesday

The no parking signs only show Saturday 1pm-6pm and Tuesdays 6pm-10pm (I think those are the times they say)

Travellers are up Towneley on the grass right hand side, just below the children’s play park. Not near Woodgrove Rd parking

Is that the area where the Towneley tribute festival is based in a couple of weeks?

Single yellow lines after 6pm are ok, but check the plate.

I don’t know which bit the festival was held on….the triangle maybe???
As you walk up Towneley, past the school, there was a patch of grass on the left hand side that was turned into a wild flower meadow, they are on there

Just realised my original reply should have said right hand side

I park on Todmordern Road or the streets around it. 5-10 mins walk to the Turf. Also try the Woodman pub if you park around there. Full of clarets and decent beer.

Club website advises traffic from west comes off M65 at junction 9 and follow diversion signs. Does this mean there are issues coming off at junction 10 and using Trafalgar Street and Centenary way to access open-air car park opposite Tesco?

I think the diversion takes you the “direct route” to TM from J9 up Rossendale Rd, across Manchester Rd to Todmorden Rd then back towards TM past Towneley.

There shouldn’t be an issue accessing that car park other than the volume of traffic

Going to be absolute chaos Friday, sell out with the main road to the ground closed, what’s the worst that can happen ?

Word of advice, lots of cars broken into last home game around the streets behind the Oxford pub, my partners Dads was one of them.

Now with the added worry of Gypsies, don’t leave anything valuable in your car.

I sometimes park on the large carpark near the crown Court, easy to get to and not bad getting off depending where you park.
Failing that can I be the first to say park and ride from Barley.
