Not happy with the rule changes that any delays will be properly allocated to time added on at the end of each half, it is the last line of the article from Ainsworth:
""It's a brilliant game and let's hope it doesn't get spoiled by too many stoppages, too many yellows or too many suspensions." Bit rich Ainsworth complaining about too many stoppages

30 minutes added each half for QPR games this season?
I agree with Dean Holden of Charlton though, why does a player need to leave the field anyway for treatment if he is on the receiving end of a bad challenge and now will need to wait 30 seconds before coming back on.
Interesting about if more than 1 player goes to the referee to complain then yellow cards will be shown, wonder if the Premier League will adopt this too?

Anything that upsets Ainsworth gets my vote.
The antics of his QPR side in April were a disgrace. He might well call it being the king of time management, but I thought it was blatant cheating.
Very happy that his awful tactics are going to come unstuck now.

All this tinkering is happening because too many players, managers etc. ignore the current rules and frankly take the ****. It means the ones who don't try and bend the rules to their advantage lose out.
The idea of players going off after having treatment on the pitch was because getting a physio on was often being used in lieu of wasting time. So is getting cramp. It is noticeable that usually only a winning team's players get cramp near the end of a match.

Spot on, but ex-player pundits will never point the finger at their mates. The head injury was well intentioned but now when a player goes down holding his head and the replay shows no contact or small contact on the shoulder the commentator and pundit invariably ignore it. They should be calling it out.
Many players could teach wrestlers about how to properly sell contact.

He was an absolute gentleman when I met him after the QPR game on the way home. He was genuinely pleased at seeing us do so well despite his background from Rovers.

These new rules around added on time will work really well for the TV companies and us armchair supporters. If we are going to have 10-15 mins plus off added time each half we could schedule a break dead on 45 mins for each half so the TV can show some ads and us at home can go for a p*ss and crack open another Fosters.

Stopping the game for cramp has pist me off forever. It is the result of a tired body and if the opposition have made you work that hard they deserve the advantage.
Unless it’s in your heart nobody is going to die.

Yes, that’s unfortunate. But the vast majority of players coming off after the Physio has come on, have just had a knock. They know that they will get back on straight away and so it doesn’t matter. 30 seconds is a long time in football, and anything can happen in that time. May just make them think a bit.

Generally, it's a good idea. I'd like to see goalkeepers that deliberately fall on the floor when winning near the end get a free kick against them when they end up holding on to it too long. That's already possible but scarcely done.
Otherwise, the prospect of 11 extra minutes of a game that is v poor and you are freezing cold and 2 or 3 goals down doesn't do it for me.

Even more reason why Kompany wants fresh legs and a deep squad.
We’ll be having our rotated wingers run defences ragged

Happy to have seen that applied when we did it for eight years?

Does this 30 second rule apply to head injuries as well?
The amount of players who fake those is ridiculous.

From what I have read it applies for all injuries, you'll be off the pitch for 30 seconds if you need a physio to come on the pitch and treat you.
What I noticed last night however if the Sheff Wed v Southampton game would be players going down "injured", the ref coming over presumably to ask if they need medical attention and the player not responding, lying on the pitch for 20+ seconds then getting up.
If the ref goes over and asks if you need treatment you either respond yes and the physio comes on and you leave the pitch for 30 seconds or if you answer no or don't reply the ref just continues the game whilst you lie on the floor.

I am sure a few years ago they said if a player injured another player and got booked or sent off, the injured player didn‘t need to leave the field after getting treatment. They did it for I think 2 games and then it disappeared.
If you are on the receiving end of a foul and need treatment you shouldn‘t be punished for it.

Northampton v Stevenage today. 9 added minutes first half and 15 added 2nd half. Bonkers. Hopefully things will become a bit more sensible once a settling in period has passed.

The hope has got to be that players and coaches will become more sensible once they’ve had to play an extra 20 minutes a few times.

I have always thought it illogical the the team whose player offended against has to leave the pitch, whilst the team whose player committed the offence carries on at full strength

!
At the minimum, both the players involved should be off the pitch for the same time; there is also an argument for the offender to be off for longer (maybe until the ball next goes 'dead')?
