Rodri

Nothing new here but what a player he is. Best midfield performance since those prime Cesc Fabregas times of lore.

Absolutely insane performance. The best in the world in that role. The very best!

He plays the game in slow motion (like many City players).

What a privilege to come up against players like Rodri at the turf. A tough game to watch today but a great player and team to be beaten by.

You see, I didn’t think that was a tough game to watch.

I thought we gave everything against the best team in the world and to watch some of our tactics in the press work and but for a couple of world class interceptions by Rodri, we’d have been through, I thought that was brilliant.

Rodri is some player, the best at what he does and him and the worlds best striker were the difference.

Well, I did. It's seemed that way for a number of years now. Were you disappointed when the final whistle went?.There's just something unhealthy about the whole carnival.

Him and Haaland the difference

We honestly more than matched them in every other area of the pitch.

But yeah Rodri - best player for me in World Football

Boring in many senses but an unbelievably good player. Kills the game. Berge did well considering he was up against him.

Class player, but always makes me laugh how his shorts look so much longer than everyone else's on the pitch :D :D :D

Effectively you are saying that if you take Rodri and Haaland out of that side we would have been OK?

From what I saw we didn't match them anywhere on the pitch.

I do disagree, if you had swapped Harland and Foster, we would likely have won the game. Foster did well, but Harland is a scoring machine.

I’m not sure, I think Man City would at a canter.

Which Tbf they do against 95% of the teams they play.

We had some massive positives, but to suggest it was remotely close is just not accurate

A little bit of a figure of speech to highlight what I believe was a good performance by our lads - just pointing out that Haaland & Rodri’s performances and bits of quality are what ultimately split the two sides.

We ran out of steam sadly and they took the game away from us after the second went in.

He is a class act, the team is set up to make him one, played cb, cdm and cam at one point and can contribute with set pieces due to stature

Not comparing him to Cullen but we allowed Cullen to play that role last season hence why he took most the honours… *berge* is a similar stature vinny

This lad has it all. He’s at the top of his game and oozes class. That performance last night, by an away team player, was equally as amazing as when Fabregas came to town and absolutely run the show.

I agree, he's a class act and the glue that holds them together.

I also think Walker is massively underated as a player too.

Is this a serious comment? I don't recall Foster being unchallenged 8 yards from goal twice which would suggest it's as much about the creating of chances as the finishing, as lethal as Haaland is.

That’s says more about Harlands movement and situation awareness . I feel Harland would have found that space where Foster didn’t. Probably the difference between good and world class.

Unfortunately he's a couple of years too old for our business model, otherwise he'd have been worth £15 million bid; a bit of work and he might even have got as good as Robbie Blake

When you look at many of the goals Kane scored you immediately think why wasn't a defender closer to him and it's simply because his movement and awareness is so much better than the defender. And even Rodri would have struggled against Kane.

Take Rodri and Haaland out of the team and we would have been unlucky not to have got anything from the game. That's the difference between us and the best in the world.

Rodri really is an outstanding player and then there was Haaland, De Bruyne (for a short time) and don't forget Bernardo Silva either.

Utterly world class. I also think what makes him even better is having that ever so slight nastiness to his game.

He was class but was thankful when De Bruyne went off because he was causing us real problems.

I watched the second half of tonight's game and when Spain needed that little bit extra 'steel' to see them over the line he provided it. France were disappointing, though and looked a tired, weary outfit at the end
