Re: Third kit
You'd need a guinea pig for this one. hard to see if the underlying detail would be under the W etc or if the W is printed on the same way as the detail.ClaretsPadiham wrote: ↑Tue Aug 01, 2023 12:07 pmThere’s a bloke on Twitter from Bolton who takes sponsors off £10 a shirt, done some Everton ones look bang on.
Personally i don't think the logo looks bad in this particular case.

The print will be across the full shirt (under the sponsor)ŽižkovClaret wrote: ↑Tue Aug 01, 2023 2:04 pmYou'd need a guinea pig for this one. hard to see if the underlying detail would be under the W etc or if the W is printed on the same way as the detail.

Quite easy to do type it in Google or YouTube.ClaretsPadiham wrote: ↑Tue Aug 01, 2023 12:07 pmThere’s a bloke on Twitter from Bolton who takes sponsors off £10 a shirt, done some Everton ones look bang on.
Can be done with removal products or even a hairdryer

Re: Third kit
I think Umbro have come up with a design, we've gone for it and then tried to think of something they could say inspired it. And if we ever had iconic floodlights, it was the old ones that disappeared in 1996.Quickenthetempo wrote: ↑Tue Aug 01, 2023 2:45 pmIs this the first thing in the world inspired by floodlights?

Not a fan to be honest, I prefer football shirts to look like football shirts and have some connection to the club beyond having the badge stuck on it. Sure it will be popular though. I wasn’t a fan of that black and pink roadmap away shirt they did last year but my son and wife both loved it.

Oh god no way the 3rd kit is by far the worst of the three it's almost in a coma it's that bland!
Re: Third kit
This is it, I'm not so sure it'd work on this shirt because the pattern possibly doesn't go under the sponsor logo.ŽižkovClaret wrote: ↑Tue Aug 01, 2023 2:04 pmYou'd need a guinea pig for this one. hard to see if the underlying detail would be under the W etc or if the W is printed on the same way as the detail.

As it's supposed to be inspired by floodlights, maybe we'll wear it for night games?

Re: Third kit
I quite like it. Wouldn't have minded something like that as the home kit if it was claret with the blue floodlight pattern.
Think both the 2nd and 3rd kits are much better than the 1st kit this year.

Claret and blue home kit version of this would have been great.

Re: Third kit
The pattern will be underneath
Think back to last year when they replaced the CFS logo with the Endsleigh one, there wasn’t any blank space where the CFS would have been
Also, it’ll the any blank space for the W88 would show on the kids shirt

Re: Third kit
Beg to differ….. ours are exactly the same shape as a pair of Y fronts….ClaretsPadiham wrote: ↑Tue Aug 01, 2023 12:09 pmInspired by the ‘Iconic floodlights’
How are they iconic, they aren’t in my eyes they are just floodlights that every ground has, nothing different about ours to any other club.
Re: Third kit
The pattern on the shirt is the same shape as our floodlights.

We don't need a third kit against anyone. In fact no team should need one, other than for retail purposes.

It looks like an early 1980's Stoke away shirt, but with an upgrade by replacing the pinstripe with the diagonal stripes of light.
Looks better on the "models" than in the the first picture

Re: Third kit
Inspired by the floodlights! What a load of marketing drivel. Almost as bad as the waves on the new Arsenal shirt that are Inspired by 'the flowing crowds to the stadium '.

Whilst there might not be an obvious colour clash to most folk, there's the possibility of the colours affecting colour blind folk isn't there?TheFamilyCat wrote: ↑Tue Aug 01, 2023 8:38 pmWe don't need a third kit against anyone. In fact no team should need one, other than for retail purposes.
There was an article out a few years back about it

This article speaks to that. Pretty sure colour blindness was discussed on a thread on here a while back too. I was surprised at the time about how common it is and how many people might struggle to differentiate between two teams on the pitch. I now know of someone I've known for a couple of years who has that difficulty that I wasn't aware of previously.
Aside from retail purposes, it makes sense that teams would choose to wear their third kid if their away kit provides an obvious colour clash e.g. Red vs green.
Re: Third kit
Still nothing online to order
Re: Third kit
That's the one, I'm guessing that is (one of) the reason behind the third kitArmchairDetective wrote: ↑Wed Aug 02, 2023 9:49 amhttps://www.footyheadlines.com/2022/06/ ... 0.html?m=1

Re: Third kit
Is the gold badge/umbro logo to go with the gold sponsor W?
Despite the still white W88 text underneath it..
Apart from the sponsor it's a nice looking shirt, nothing about it looks like Burnley though. Looks more like the casual shirts you can buy in the club shop.
Doubtful I will buy any of the 3 this season, but there's no law against wearing old shirts that you do actually like

Re: Third kit
Must admit, having seen it in person in the club shop, it just looks a bit cheap. Not helped by the print just being on the front panel and not all over the shirt

Re: Third kit
Against my better judgement my eldest lad wanted it so we purchased 2 X home tops and that one, on arrival it was evident he'd made a big mistake! It's horrendously cheaply made ( think Turkish market football tops purchased on holiday) and looks like a training top with zero identity ..........it went back and exchanged for the home topŽižkovClaret wrote: ↑Mon Aug 14, 2023 11:17 amMust admit, having seen it in person in the club shop, it just looks a bit cheap. Re: Third kit
I was nearly tempted by the home top but 55 quid is too bloody steep for me when i've still several other adequate Burnley home and away tops from recent years
